Any WOW vellum ideas?

I am having a stamp club meeting on Friday ,our 3rd month, and the hostess wants to do stuff with vellum. I haven't really worked with it much, so to me it isn't very exciting. Do you have any neat projects that you made with vellum? I'm off to the gallery to check too

One really cool holiday card I have made is to take card stock fold into card. Have vellum in same size and fold to see where you are working. Stamp a fir tree or snowflakes (snowmen work too) on the inside of the vellum. Color with pens if you want the look once folded is a nice soft look. Then for the fun - take some glue and glitter and accent the tree where you would have snow and if you stamped the snowflake just highlight the various points of the flake. Then if you want to add more ummph you can cut just a 1/4" off the vellum at the outside edge with decorative scissors like deckle. And then take ribbon and thread the spine with a pretty bow.

My cousin made sour cream twist containers from dry embossed vellum as favors for her wedding guests. She put a Hershey kiss and a Hershey hug inside, crimped the ends and added a tag that said "A hug and a kiss from Shelley and Chris." Such a simple project, but it really added some elegance AND fun to her reception!

I've used my versamark pad with chalk on vellum. If you go to my gallary I made a Butterfly card this way.

STamp the image using versamark onto the vellum. Than with a cotton ball dabb chalk onto the versamark ink...it will put color onto the versamark ink. DO NOT WIPE the chalk...it will smear. Use mulitple colors of chalk for more dimensional look.

I like to emboss the vellum in white ep and then colour the underside with blender pen and pastels. Looks soft and elegant.

I used this for a few wedding cards and used the bell from the Greeting for all Reasons set.

I love vellum! I actually bought a whole ream of it at a local paper supply store. I just posted a card using vellum in my gallery. Super simple - the vellum is placed over an image that was colored with markers. Gives a really soft look. I attached with eyelets. I also love embossing in white on the front and coloring with markers on the back and putting over a colored cardstock. My friend made a beautful Chrstmas card - brayer on glossy with the spectrum that is shades of blue - then stamped solid pine trees in black, then cover with vellum. The greeting was stamped on the vellum in white. The same technique works great for invitations. Just run the vellum through your printer for the info and out over your stamped background. HTH

I am constantly making invites for people using vellum over colored cardstock. I use our Font CD and type out the invite, run it through the printer (make sure you let it dry well) and can get four invites on one sheet. I use eyelets and our small grosgrain or organdy ribbon at the top-
it's a WOWer and people love them!! I also offer to make coordinating
thank you cards for the person the party is for, they make a nice gift.

I usually charge one dollar per invite, 1.50 for the invite and thank you card. (make sure the thank you is simple!)

Here's one I love:

1. Stamp image on a vellum tag (I used the cherries from Simple Seasons).

2. Heat set with an embossing gun, heat tool or a hair dryer. Then flip tag over onto an old mouse pad.

3. Dry emboss using a stylus over stamped lines.

4. Using markers, color in image as desired.
