Cutting down your 12x12 cardstock to use for cards

I was a SB'er before I started stamping, so when I placed my first SU cardstock order, I ordered the 12x12 assortment packs in addition to the 8.5x11. I'm a new demo and I'm having an Open House Friday and I'm scrounging for some more SU cardstock, so I'm going to cut up my 12x12 cardstock. Not all of it, though. I do want to do a sample 6x6 SB page for my Open House to show the SBing stuff that SU has.

This might be a dumb question, but do you just cut enough off to make a piece of 8.5x11 cardstock, then use the rest for scraps??

Hi, Susan, this won't help you in time for Friday, but there is a demo only item, a template, that shows paper-saving ways to cut cs.

One of the ways, I think, (I don't have mine yet) is to cut out the middle of the cs to create a "frame". You wind up using the frame part as part of your scrapbook page -- this cuts down on the weight. Then the middle part you cut out is available to use for 6x6 or cardmaking or whatever. Not sure this makes sense -- still only on cuppa coffee #2....
