So I was bored and in a weirder-than-usual mood tonight. Never a good combination for me.... Anyway, earlier today I had an idea for a stamping poem, so I decided to try and do one. And this is what I came up with! Thought it might make some of you giggle!
Stamping Oddessy
I had an idea for a card So I went downstairs to stamp!! It was a really good one too, I thought as I turned on my lamp.
This card I knew would be the best Of any card around!! It would be so spectacular That people would gather round!!!
The magazines would call for sure Begging to publish ME!! I'd get a call from Shelli herself Asking for tips with glee!
I knew all this as I sat to stamp The glory would soon be mine! I inked my stamp, got paper out-- I'd be finished in record time!!!
Like a fiend I stamped, I was in the Zone!!
I knew that I was touched...
By an artists' genuis no less,
I wasn't asking for much!
I stamped on cardstock, stamped on tins, Once I stamped my hand.... I stamped until I had a cramp Then I sat back and.....
Gazed upon my masterpiece A Picasso if you will! With loving eyes I took it in I could not get my fill....
The glory this card would garnish me! The fame that I would earn!!! I'd be the dirtiest Dirty Girl, From ME they'd want to learn!!!!!
I rushed upstairs to show my spouse My creation nestled tight, And as I placed it in his hands, I saw it in the natural light.
The fame haze faded from my eyes And I could see quite clear That I still had a lot to learn And my eyes began to tear.
My husband carefully took my card And looked at it every way. He smiled up at me and said, "That's so cool!" in a most encouraging way.
"You're sure getting good at stamping now! Soon you'll be a pro!!" He handed back my masterpiece And turned as if to go.
"You deserve some new stuff I think," He said as he got a snack. "Then you'd get even better!" He proclaimed while coming back.
I smiled and thanked him graciously In shock from his generous deed. Then I went downstairs to make a list Of all the new toys I need!!!!
And one of these days I think I will Really make a masterpiece.... But until I do I'm sure glad That I don't have to hide my receipts!!!!!!
What a great poem! Think we've all been there at least once. I'm glad dh has just learned to say the right thing when I show him one of my creations...or maybe I am trully getting a better and deserving of a lttle more than a grunt! Glad he doesn't complain about my spending...just a get a "look" once in a while when I'm assembling my new toys!

Mine knows that I only spend what I make in a month from SU, so he doesn't complain. Plus, my override for December paid for most of our Christmas--so now he REALLY can't complain!!!
