Default Cuttlebug dies in the Sizzix?

Just wondering if you can do the cuttlebug dies & folders in the Sizzix? I like the look of the folders, but I can't bring myself to buying another machine.

From what I have read on here, you can use the Cuttlebug in the Sizzix as long as you have the Sizzix adapter (I bought this adapter when the Sizzlits came out). I'm not sure if you need additional shimming. Maybe someone else can answer that question.

I just got the Sizzix this morning as a gift and am debating whether to exchange it for the cuttlebug tomorrow. Any suggestions??? Also I'm not sure the cost of the Sizzix. Is it more than the Cuttlebug?

I use my Cuttlebug dies and folders in my Sizzix (big machine) all the time with the adapter and they work perfectly! I too didn't want to purchase yet another machine! You just have to press, slide, press the folders as you would with the large red dies...have fun!!!

opps - hit enter too fast! The price of the sizzix machine is coming down and you might be able to find it cheaper than the Cuttlebug...I saw a site last night that had it for $40 or under (the Sizzix)...
www.allthatscraps.com
check it out!

try www.sizzix.com as well - today is tuesday teaser day and I know they have been trying to clearance out old merchandise...you might even be able to get a value pack of the machine and dies...I haven't looked yet today though...
good luck in your search!

I got two Sizzix dies for Christmas but one is not one I will really find useful so I am going to exchange it for some Cuttelbug dies! WOOHOO!! I Love that these two machines are interchangeable!

I have the CB embossing folders and all I do is put the adapter on my Sizzix and it works PERFECTLY to emboss!!!

I am so glad someone posted this. I have the Accucut LARGE diecut machines (like the scrapbook stores and schools have) that I love for all of my box/bag templates.

I also have the Sizzix and I was really wanting to buy the Cuttlebug today but now that I know it is interchangeable...I am a happy camper and will use that money for some embossing templates

You have made my day! I was so jealous of those large Cuttlebug embossing dies! I never tried the embossing dies in my Sizzix, but now I can't wait to play! Might have to go to the store now.

Yes, you can use the dies in the sizzix, I actually bought the cuttlebug (and I have the sizzix). Will probably take the cuttlebug back and just buy the embossing folders for my sizzix. Since, they are interchangeable.

Do you use the same adapter that you would use for Sizzlits?

Lori...you need the magnetic convertor that you would use when using the sizzlets with the large machine...

And as for the brass templates I am not sure of but I think someone had tried it.....I seem to remember them saying that the edges of the template showed no matter what they did...

It is funny that you ask about using the brass templates -- I had a friend show me how to do that last year and that was why and when I bought my Sizzix. I never used it though until the Cuttlebug embossing folders came out -- I have FORGOTTEN how to use it with the brass templates !! As soon as I finish my Christmas present thank you cards (Yes, I do know that it is already 12/30!) I will play around with it. I'll try to figure it out and let y'all know.

Default A dumb question

I have a sizzix and a wizard. I usually use the wizard, so do not know too much about the sizzix. What does the converter look like?

I use the Cuttlebug embossing folders and the cuttlebug dies in my Sizzix ( with the coverter) and they work really well!!

My question is: Can you use the Fiskars Texture Plates with the Sizzix - has anyone tried that? If so - with or without the converter? (My guess would be without the converter!)

Thanks everyone! It's a relief to me to know that I can buy Cuttlebug alphabets to use in my Sizzix, because I don't think I have room for another machine. (Plus, I'm sorry, but that green just wouldn't fit into my decor. :p )

Ok maybe I'm the only one, but I didn't like the way the Sizzix embossed the paper using the Cuttlebug folder. I am selling my Sizzix Machine and converter and am going to buy the Cuttlebug!
