This week's TLC was suggested by Michelle/Mybearybest. Thanks so much! Her friend Terry/TERRORE3 showed her how to make these cool cards that combine a pocket card and a slider.
And here are the directions, copied directly from one of Michelle's cards.
I learned how to make slider cards from my friend Terry (terrore3). They're pretty easy to make and a lot of fun!
For the pocket, cut a piece of cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/4" and decorate if desired. Score it 2-5/8" on each side and fold into the middle. Tape it closed with monoadhesive. Use a hole punch to put a hole through all layers at the top center.
For the inside card, make the finished size 5" x 3". Cut a length of ribbon (I find I like how grosgrain works best) @ 18" long. Thread the ribbon through each hole from the inside and pull up so that both ends are even. Hold the ends of the ribbon together as you slide the inner card inside the pocket slowly pushing the ribbon down with it. Once it's inside all the way, tie the ribbon into a knot at the top and trim the ends. Now whenever you pull the ribbon up the card will slide with it, and when you push the card back in the pocket, the ribbon will slide with it.
When you upload, please put TLC93 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread. If you are new to the challenges, or need help uploading or linking, click here.
I look forward to seeing all your creations!
As always, I am in search of suggestions for techniques for future TLCs! Please PM with suggestions and a link to the directions and/or a sample if you can.
couldn't agree more. So are these like the sliders that you make for holding like popcorn, soup, hot cocoa and the like, only they just have paper inside nothing else?

I bet that will be fun....I have to re-do my close relative Christmas cards because my girls' pictures are landscape instead of portrait direction so maybe I'll try the sideways one.
Thanks for the challenge Beth, Michelle and Terry!
Sounds cool. Just from reading the directions, I'm not sure I get the ribbon thing, but it may make more sense when I'm actually doing it. 'course, I know if I have ????, I have only to ask and some smart person will help me. Thanks, Beth, Michelle and Terry.

I've never done on of these, but will try to work one in between everything else.

I have such a dumb question. What is the purpose of the long ribbon? Is this different than making a pocket card and just putting a pull ribbon on the top of it? I am probably missing something vital in this process and not seeing it. Sorry!!! Any help will be appreciated.
this is a fun technique...I've done a bunch of these before...you guys have a great time with it...I am already entrenched in the evening rituals and they don't allow for stamping

I have to get my little monster to bed, then I hope to play along. I have been struggling with my customer Christmas card this year...maybe this will help get me started.
OK, I'm with Kittie here. Does the inside card just rest on the long ribbon so that it comes up when the ribbon is pulled? So the inside card would just fall out if I pulled the ribbon all the way out? In lieu of a ribbon at the top as a pull? Just checking.
I notice most of you are going christmas. My christmas cards are done and after 5 days of ice and snow I needed to think spring. Here is my fun card.Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
