IC41 - Shoebox
Inspiration Challenge 41 ( IC41 ) - Shoebox
So, in cleaning up my house so I can sell it (anyone wanna come help...please) I was recycling and found this awesome shoebox lid from PayLess. I was immediately inspired...hope you are too!
My day is PACKED for saturday so I stayed up late to do the IC! I don't know WHAT possessed me to use glossy cardstock but it smears w/ the lightest touch!! Please forgive all my fingerprints all over the background!!
Here's mine! I literally went with the inspiration - all I could see was Haute Couture, so that's what I used. I colored with twinkling H2O's - I wanted it to look 'artsy' - this was the best I could do....
Thanks, Karen, for posting yet another great inspiration piece. I struggled a little, then remembered this little lady who sits all by herself most of the time!
Woohoo, just got to see this can't wait to play. Don't have haute couture so I'm gonna have to look around............Thanks Karen!

What a great piece, Karen--so many directions you could take with it. I went with the bright backgrounds and black accents. Hope to get back later to check out what I'm sure will be some outstanding uploads!
Great challenge! I worked on the background the most, trying new techniques. Here's what I've settled for since I don't have any watercolor paper, which I needed for all the things I tried. I did one with the pastels and buffed it. then I smired the butterfly as I was mounting it on the white backing. I liked it buffed, but it may not have shown up on the scan anyway - or so that's what I'm telling myself!! BUTTERFLY
Here's mine called Shoe box. This was quite a challenge for me. Thanks Karen.

I always print out my photo and take it to the basement and make my card...I hope what I did was okay but when I took this to the basement the print SCREAMED OUT TO ME........USE ME AS BACKGROUND PAPER.........and that is what I did.

a 2nd one for me, too. I love the flow of the inspiration piece, wished I had been able to achieve it more closely. Also the colors aren't as close this time, for sure. Watercolor Butterfly
