WT78 Chalk it Up
This week it is time for another rerun. For those of you who don't know, I have started posting a rerun challenge once a month for those of you who weren't able to play the first time around, to bring on some more fresh ideas for those of you who have played before and to just plain not run out of products! This week the challenge is to find ways to use pastels or chalks in your project. Make a card, make a page, make a journal...the sky is the limit, just use your pastels somewhere on the project. As always, tips or helpful techniques or links are always appreciated. I am hoping to find some time later to play...I know my pastels have once again gotten dusty on the shelf.
Please remember to put WT78 in your keyword section and post a link back here so that we can all see your work. If you have examples in your gallery that you wish to share, we'd love to see them but please limit the list to one or two and please play along today.
Here is the link to the past pastels challenge WT20. You may want to take a peek at it for ideas...
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Have a wonderful day,
Julia
PS. For those of you who wish to know...Benjamin is doing great in school. Also, I have a huge list of pm's to catch up on. I'm sorry, it's been so busy and if you have sent me a message, I'll try and get back to you today.

Thanks Julia! Sounds like fun, but not much of a challenge as I use my pastels all the time. Maybe my challenge will be to find a new use for them.

Not even stalking and I'm in on the early side! I hardly ever use my pastels so I really should try to get them out this week! Thanks Julia!

Sounds like fun. Thanks Julia! Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. I don't really use mine much. So I need some ideas.

Great challenge, Julia. Couldn't get along without my chalks and just finished this one last night. They make doing clouds and skies really easy and if you goof up, the kneaded eraser takes care of the mistakes (lol).

Ah, yes, I remember the day I thought pastels were THE way to go - then came watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, prismas and mine too began to collect dust. Such pretty results with the pastels - why do we neglect them? Thanks for the push, Julia!

I love the variety that comes with using pastels...I can match with any cardstock, even the colors I don't have ink to match. I love them. I just went to last years thread and found the list of ways to use pastels (six pages long!). I am excited to try something new today. HC

I love my pastels, but I echo alot of others--I haven't used them in a while. Have to go to school with my kids for the day, then I sure hope I can play--I haven's been able to do a challenge for ages!

I am not happy with either of my cards, but I spent so much time on them that I hate not to upload them. They just wouldn't come out how I wanted. I guess I am not in a very creative mood. Oh well, here they are. :???:

Challenge to use chalks (which were really dusty!). I enjoyed this challenge, but like the precision of the crayons or pencils better - thanks for pushing me outta my box again, Julia. This was fun.

Quick question for everyone - what do you use to put your chalks on? I know the little eyeshadow brushes don't do very well for me, so share with us what you use!
I've seen some gorgeous cards that have chalking around the outside of a main image panel - or is that sponging with something else?

I like sponge daubers, they work pretty well. Q tips work too, but not as well.

I didn't use chalk on the outer edge of mine. I used ink and sponges. I wonder how well chalks would work!?
