Yea! I can work on this over the weekend! Thanks so much for doing these sketch challenges. I've found lately that I want to do something with my stamps that I can maintain forever (cards really are meant to be sent to others, aren't they?), and scrapbooking fills the bill. Besides I have lots of photos to scrap.
Thanks so much for posting these! I have yet to venture into scrapbooking, but, as a brand new demonstrator, I know it will benefit me to give it a try.
Your sketches make it less intimidating to me. I think I can actually DO this! Give me a formula and I can just plug stuff in--phew! Creativity is NOT my talent. I'm a great copier, though!!
Can't wait to give it a try!

i love the sketches.. i can't really post mine because i don't think my scanner will scan a 12 x 12 page (the only size albums i work on right now) but I just wanted to let you know that i appreciate the sketches and still do them even though i can't post!!! so keep doing them they are appreciated!
Well, I've finished the first version of this one I'll make. It fought me. I finished it and went to add ribbon or some embellishments, and nothing fit. What I really wanted were some of those tiny staples we all used to have in those miniture staplers we kept in our binders as kids to staple together assignments. But Walmart did not have one of these staplers. Now they make ones that fit standard staples. Now where's the fun in that. I've already got a standard stapler.
Anyway, I got my inspiration from this card, although I really went far a field with it:
I'm just finishing up the first sketch, I'll start this one tomorrow. I'm so glad you are doing this. I am soooo0o layout challenged, LOL. This really helps me out.
Just wanted to say thanks. I hope to post mine by Monday.

I made a page with a photo of my neice when she was all dressed up for a wedding...about 12 years ago! How time flies, she'll be graduating from HS this year. I feel so old! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Hi. I just read your post and love your sketch ideas. How do I find your sketch challenge #1? Are you doing this every week? I plan to try making a page tomorrow.
Thanks,
Lauri
If you will notice, our challenge hostess has conviently asked us to put a specific phrase into the "keywords" section when we do our uploads:
Quote:
Don't forget to put SBSC02 in the keywords so we can see your creations! And post back here with the linkie!!
Kimberly
This allows you to go to the gallery and run a custom search. If you type in SBSC01, you will get all the samples made for the first challenge. If you run SBSC02, you will get all the samples for this challenge.
Come join the fun. You must have some lonely photoes that are yearning to be adorned and explained....

If your scanner is a flatbed you can scan it in two pieces and stitch them together in photo editing software if you have it. Or, do you have a digital camera maybe?
I did the first week challenge in 12x12 and scanned, but I'm thinking of doing 6x6 or 8x8 for these challenges and using them in a special album for demo purposes.

Nifty idea. I know that my customers LOVE sketches that are versatile. I call them "Quick Card Templates." You could easily create a "Quick Scrappin Template" from the sketches....
I love these scrapbook challenges! This is going to help me get this album done for my sister in no time. Thank you so much. Here is this weeks page, featuring my sister and son of course.
just found this post... What a great idea... I don't know if I will have time to get one done this week.. But would be able to get into this with Saturday's challenge. I'm just getting going on my pictures, getting them organized and have put together a few pages so this is perfect timing and perfect inspiration and motivation for me....
Will check back on Saturday -- Can't wait to play.
Ladies what a beautiful job on all the pages...I can't wait to try out both layouts...Thanks so much for this new challenge...It really helps "us" scrapbook challenged people...
But on the upside: DH criticized me only *mildly* for doing my son in pastels... He's a great guy, but sometimes I feel the need to take my decorative stapler and use it on his mouth!

Finally, finally... here's my submission for the SBSC #2. Now I have to wait 'til Saturday for the 5th one, huh? =) That's okay... I need to work on my 6 x 6 album so I'll use the first 4 as inspiration again! Thanks so much Kimberly!
Challenge to do all the challenge's for scrapbooking. Here is SBSC2 - Jesse's First Christmas. He was only a month old so he pretty much slept through it.
