Yes there are more......
I edited out about 1/4 of what was there due to content and also I edited some out because they were things we would just never use here on SCS - but computer junkies use them -
for example:
RYO means write your own program.
TFH - means thread from H### (one that just won't quit and has nothing to do with anything) (we don't do that here - haha lol)
BOF - Bunch of Floppies or
BOD- Bunch of disks

Things like that (see what I mean)

Here are a couple we use:

When we retire from running our own business all the worries will be
SEP (somebody else's problem)

Because our kids are extremely smart and very good looking (no bias here) we say it's
GSM (genetically superior material)

It is also good to know all of those acronyms if you have a teenager with a cell phone. They like to text message each other and often times it is in code. I don't have a teenager, but I know those who do and they have to learn another language to keep up!

This is not on the SCS website but in my house we have a lot of:
TLA's - three letter abbreviations
the best being:

RTM - Read The Manual (applies to any case of idiocywhen directions aren't followed - and usually applied to DH)

BTW (by the way), just for the pedantic (like me), most of those mentioned are TLAs, not acronyms, which according to the dictionary are words made up out of abbreviations. So RADAR (a pronouncable word) is an acronym and IBM (not really pronuncable), is not.

Comes of growing up in a house of English teachers!

thanks Cate for the english lesson and yes you are correct - these actually should be called TLA's

more that I though of is:
FS-for sale
FT-for trade
FSoT or FS/T - For sale or trade

So who out there is going to compile this list so that we will have one long list to post to the "getting started" discussion - so that newbies can find it right away. LOL

And if you want to know the origins of SKW - Beate & I started using that one here because someone asked about our relationship. So we love things, but in a purely skw, of course!

Just thought you needed to know that vital bit of background on it. . . probably TMI (too much information)!

I have a teenager who programs and he thinks I'm OOTL (out of the loop) because I always have to ask him what this stuff means! He thinks he is so cool.

Like when you see a card you love, and you borrow the same basic design but don't have the same stamps or want to use the same colors - you "selectively edit" it.

Norway Troll,
Thanks for the heads up about "MOMS" - my "thinks she's a teenager" daughter will not be so ahead of me now! Are there any other important ones forthis age group?

I was told it meant: Copy and Steal Everything
However, I've come to the conclusion that unless I'm using someone else's acutal card/scrapbook page/handmade item without giving them credit, them I'm NOT stealing, just sharing or selectively editing.

This is added to explain the "editting" later on in this post.

SAHM - stay at home mom
RAK - Random Acts of Kindness

I still don't know what BRAK is?
