I have been counting the minutes until today when my huge box of new SU goodies was scheduled to arrive, then by chance I just happened to look at my UPS tracking page again and now it shows it has been rescheduled for tomorrow!!!! TOMORROW??? when all that's kept me going was knowing it would finally be at my house today? And the kicker is, the tracking page shows it arrived in Austin (my city!) on SATURDAY!!!! Saturday? and they can't get it to my house until TUESDAY? (Normally on the scheduled delivery date I can see that the package arrives in Austin that same morning and gets to my house that afternoon.)
Are their trucks THAT weighted down with SU boxes they can't get it over here? If I see the brown truck drive down my street today WITHOUT stopping I will have to fling my body out in its path!!!
Has anyone else had their delivery switch to rescheduled status? Can I call them and go get it at their distribution center????
Hi...I had that happen once and it's a big let down, isn't it! My package was scheduled to be delivered on a Friday and it ended up being rescheduled for Monday! I had to wait the whole weekend and had needed it to prepare for a stamp camp the following weekend! Needless to say I had to work my butt off to get things ready for the stamp camp!
I'm not sure why that happens...it hasn't happened since. Call UPS and see if you can pick it up...you never know!
Good luck and make sure you keep this site up all day to get your Stampin' fix!
Oh my gosh! How dare they?! Do they have any idea how valuable the contents of your package are and that a delay simply will not do?! How can they can expect me(oops, I mean you) to wait a whole day more? This is an injustice.
Sorry. I got caught up in the emotion and was projecting my feelings onto you. It is SOOOOOO hard to wait. Don't they get that?!
Seriously, I have heard of people calling UPS and having them hold their package so they can pick it up. You may want to give that a try.
Believe me, I've been known to drive to UPS to collect my stuff when this has happened. I had a driver just not feel like driving all the way to my place on a Saturday with a priority next day first AM package. He "exceptioned" it as resident not home. Well, I was home and I drove right down to his dispatch center and waited for him. Boy, was he in trouble when he got back in. His supervisor even bought me and my daughter Starbucks while we waiting for him.
I truly feel your pain (and checked my order because you scared me). If it were Winter I could understand delays, but what kind of delay can you blame on the weather in July? Good luck, and we really do feel your pain.
This happened to me recently...I paid for expedited shipping and when I checked the shipping status it showed that it was "rescheduled" to the next day. I called UPS and asked why it was rescheduled when I had paid so much more $$ for expidited and I wasn't getting what I paid for.
The UPS person said "it got there late" and that someone would call me back w/in an hour....no one called because w/in that hour my box was on my front doorstep! Not sure if it's the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" or I just got lucky and it made it on a truck.
BTW, I also asked how to get a refund for the extra $$ for expidited shipping charges if I didn't get my package on the promised date and UPS told me to contact the company I purchased from and request the shipping refund.

MelMel! You scared me. I have a HUGE order coming today (all for me I might add) and I had to go check and make sure my order wasn't rescheduled. Thank goodness mine is so coming, but for a split second I could feel your pain! Oh man! The pain.. . The agony. . .
Well , I did call and they said that when a package gets scanned after 10AM, it won't go out until the next day, my tracking showed it scanned at 10:30 this morning. This made NO sense because Eastern Time (time they post on UPS) it is still not even 10:00!! Before she noticed this she did say they could call me back in an hour to see if I could pick it up, but luckily we caught the error in scan time. She thinks it was just keyed in wrong (maybe it was supposed to 7:30 or something) and that it is probably already out for delivery TODAY! Fingers crossed, fiongers crossed!! Now all she says I can do is keep checking the page to see if it will updtae and correct the time error! I may drive myself crazy today refershing and refreshing the screen!!!
Beate's has been here since Saturday, and they would not let her go get it! It was still scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. What the heck? That rots, man. . . . hope it comes today for you both! We need more new stuff in the gallery!
Well Lana, here in Wisconsin I have never had a problem with the UPS delivering something that is suppose to come on that day!! Never had it rescheduled, but maybe it is just a Texas thing??? I can't just drive to our UPS warehouse either cause it is an hour away :( But I am sure when the time comes that I do become a demo will have problems I can just forsee that!! lol
Yep, I called the UPS dispatch once because that heppened, for no good reason and it "mysteriously" appeared on my doorstep. Nobody rang my doorbell, I was home, but someone sure came and left it! When you complain to them about how pricey the shipping is, and let them know you can SEE it on tracking, they realize you mean business. It may help to say "Hey, I've seen the commercials, now it's your chance to show me, What can Brown do for ME?" in your sweetest voice
okay ~ I just realized, they did the same thing with my catalogs. It never showed in tracking and when they were delivered no one knocked, so I don't even know if my regular guy delivered them or a supervisor. I had forgotten about that key fact.
Hooray, hooray! Tracking report now shows it went out for delivery at 5:30 this morning with an arrival of today!!! happy dance, happy dance!!!
Thanks for sharin the love, I will mount my stamps tonight and post some cards!!!!!
PS If you've noticed I haven't been posting much this last month, it is because of my new "delicate condition"! Hopefully I will get inspired by my new goodies and in the next couple weeks get out of the exhausted pukey stage! New stamper due Feb 2005!!!
I have had several "rescheduled" shipments - all were arrival scan errors (which arrived on time) except one. It was a UPS fender bender - I called and growled at the customer service person who came unglued and scolded me "Shame on you, our driver is in the hospital!!!" I felt 2 inches tall
Sometimes they have a very good reason for rescheduling!

Melanie, congratulations! I am so excited for you! February is a good month - my birthday, regionals here in San Antonio. . . . and now your new baby! I hope you are blessed with a pregnancy free of major difficulties, and a healthy, happy baby in February!
MelMel is pregnant! Woohoo! Another SplitCoast baby. Coleton will be so excited to hear this! Congratulations MelMel. I was pukey and sick the first three months of both of my pregnancies. It was easier to tolerate the second time through. Puking just became a routine! Sorry!
I found the good part of puking was we had the cleanest bath in town! I love Clorox. Congratulations, MelMel. Hope you feel livelier and inspired soon.
Congratulations, another Baby Stamper! Who knows....you and Keri will form "New Baby" bonds, then Coleton will grow up to be a young man who is understanding of the Stamping Bug...you may have a little girl who has the Stamping Bug....WOW another Split Coast match!!! I'm happy for your good news!!

When I still had 2 days to wait for my cattys, I called UPS at 7:05am EST (6:05 MY time) and explained the situation....crazy stamper can't sleep, eat, function without my new cattys.....& got a wonderful person on the other end of the line. She sent an urgent message to the UPS center thingy. She told me they would call by 10 am & let me know when I could pick the precious cattys up. (I even sold one to one of the customer service reps.) In the wee hours of July 16, I was able to place one last order from the old catty with SU! OEX for expedited shipping. I paid the extra $20 for 2nd day air & had to wait until TUESDAY for it. I was going out of town to help my friend make her baby announcements & needed most of what was in that box. I tracked that box from Salt Lake to Knoxville, TN....by truck no less......to Minneapolis, MN......finally the AIR part........to Eagan, MN.....wait a minute! That's the wrong direction!......back to Minneapolis.......all by Monday. I called at least 6 times between the time it hit Mpls to the time I finally tracked my driver down so I could pick it up. I was told by the first person that they have to make an attempt at delivery before you can p/u a package.....reminded the cust serv rep of previous week.....she got supervisor who said tracking needs to say departure scan before they can hold package......refresh, refresh, refresh.......call back, get the same answer....have to make an attempt first, blah, blah, blah.........remind again of previous week & what I had been told in last call......am now told have to wait until it says out for delivery or 7 am EST next morning......call back at 6 am CST...... am told the same thing again.....have to make an attempt.......get frustrated, tell her what I've been told & remind of previous week.....she says she'll send a message & call back if I haven't heard anything by 10 am.....call back at 10 am CST not EST & no message was sent.......GRRRR now really PO'd. Get the same blah, blah, blah about have to make an attempt......person gets tired of me & sends message marked urgent & they get a hold of the driver, find out where he is & how long he'll be in the area & send me to him to get my package. He was only about 3 miles from my house & it would have taken him another 6 hours to get there! UGH! I'm just way too impatient to be at the end of the route! I wish there was a way to just notify UPS that I want to p/u my packages! Don't get me wrong, I think they are a great delivery system, I just get frustrated when it take an extra 3 days for 2nd day air!
Just thought I'd share my woes here in MN!

I've found in my other "life" that UPS delivers by priority first. Ground kind of gets there when it gets there. If the truck is full, it waits until the next day (hence the mysterious reschedule). They have like a 5-10 day delivery commitment on ground. "Expedited" shipping is really kind of nebulous. UPS does next day (am or pm), 2 day, 3 day and ground. I'd guess that unless you've paid for next day service, it's going via 3 day on expedited. Saturdays don't count unless you pay for Saturday delivery either.
I love explaining to my other life customers where their stuff is. It's even more fun when it is truly MIA, which happens more than I'd like it to.
Melmel!!! Congratulations !!! Such sweet news!!! Don't you worry. The smell of newly trimmed rubber will soon have you back at your stamping table. The ceramic era will pass, and you'll be doin' GREAT!
As for UPS, they marked a couple of different shipments to me as "undeliverable" 'Addressee not at address.' This showed on the tracking screen. WRONG! I was sitting right here, nearly pacing by the door of my same address. UPS comes here late in the day anyway. A phone call to a supervisor was necessary both times. The second time, I insisted on picking it up, and they told me where on the route to meet the truck! (New workers in the warehouse had put my stuff on the wrong truck - twice.) Tracking is a very helpful tool!

Hopefully she got her package by now, since her post was 13 years ago. lol I do think it's neat when old, old threads pop up. Still haven't quite figured out how you'd even find one this old to post on.
Just think, that baby that wasn't born yet is a teenager now!
PS: Welcome to SCS! Congratulations on your first post.
