I've made these at a class before and loved it!! I would like to make more but am having a terrible time finding "micro beads"...I've looked at all the craft stores and even WalMart...do these items go rather quickly when they get them in and is there a place online to purchase the beads??
I get mine at Michael's they come in a 2 pack for $1.99 they are in the isle with the rubber stamps. That is the only place I have found them. You can get them through stampin up or www.pennywise.com The 2 pack I get at Michael's I can get 20 pens made with them. Hope that helps

What a fantastic idea! I can't wait to try it! I buy my micro beads at Michaels as well, in the rubber stamp aisle. This technique also looks really nice on a card if you apply the micro beads over an image. The tape that you suggest is also one of my favorites. Super Sticky and very clear. I find it in the same aisle as the micro beads, but it may change by location. SU sells it as well.
Hello:
I can't seem to print out the instructions for the beaded pens. Can someone please (so kindly of you) email me the complete instructions??? Would be so very appreciated. I love the sound of these
I bought some micro beads a while back from a web site called www.ladeda.com The phone # on the little bottle is 1-888-523-3321 I haven't been to the site in awhile, but if anyone wants, check it out. I know they had all different kinds and colors.
I personaly like using www.pennywise.com for the o'so sticky paper on the pens. It is much easier to use than SU!'s sticky strip (I love that too though for other uses) and I much prefer pennywise's beads. The ultrafine if you really want detail to come through. I do like SU!'s beads too tho, but for the details to come through, pennywise. Plus I like the prices there.
I vote for www.pennywisearts.com mini-micro beads. I have tried the beads from Micheal's but find they are a little too big for my liking. If you stamp a detailed design for the pen, the Micheal's beads tend to obscure the image. The mini-micro beads from PennyWise give better detail to the stamped image.

They are MINI microbeads and the smallest microbead that I have seen on the market. They are fantastic layered over a stamped image because they don't obscure the details.

I have a couple in my gallery, or you can check the out in the ANYTHING BUT A CARD gallery in the stationary. Let me see if I can get the links for you.
Your directions are fabulous! I've never bothered to make these before because I never really wanted to figure it all out. I made 4 of these today already and I plan on making more to go with watercolored note card sets that I'll be selling at a gift craft boutique a few weeks from now. They match the note cards and I love them. Even my boys and DH loved them. Thanks again for posting this.

Does anyone have a good source for the micro beads for the pens. I went to Hobby Lobby today and they didn't have any, and didn't even know about them!
www.pennywise.com I hope that is the right address. I love her micro mini, or is it mini micro beads. Been awhile since I had to order them (they go along way) They do a MUCH better job of showing the fine details, AND she has good prices.

OK OOPS! I am a bit tired. Baby is only 2 weeks, we are still trying to "catch" up on sleep. Here is the website! Great stuff.
