This week's technique comes directly from May 06 VSN. It was StampinDeedee's challenge, and here are her words:
Fill a deflated latex balloon with about 1/2 cup of small textured objects, such as grains of rice, macaroni, jelly beans, or a mix thereof. Tie off the balloon tightly close to the lump of textured material. Press the balloon into an ink pad, then stamp on cardstock. The texture from whatever you filled the balloon with will create a really interesting background for a card or scrapbook page! So pull out those balloons, and show me where your creativity takes you!
Plenty of inspiration for you all, courtesy of all the stampers that participated in that challenge: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
If you don't happen to have a balloon lying around, I imagine a ziploc baggie would work too. Just fill it and put a rubber band around the top to make a balloon shape.
I look forward to seeing all your creations!
As always, I am in search of suggestions for techniques for future TLCs! Please PM with suggestions and a link to the directions and/or a sample if you can.
Thanks!

Oh, that was a fun challenge. A note. It helps to have a large balloon. Small ones just don't work. For VSN, I remember I ended up using a plastic bag instead, since my balloon was too small. But the result was awesome. Thanks, Beth.
Woohoo it's hot enough for waterballoons here in Ohio! Thanks Beth for the great challenge. I've never tried this one!

I didn't get this one done for VSN, but hope to get time to try it today.

Here's mine. It's a little bright, but we all need some brightness to start our Monday, right? Thanks for the new technique, Beth. This was interesting and fun.
I'm glad you revisited this one from VSN. When I tried it before all I had were small balloons that I just couldn't get anything in the neck. This time I went with a vinyl glove. Added a handful of buttons from my sewing room, shifted them to the palm of the glove and stamped with that. You can even see the holes in the center of some of the button images for the thread. This worked so much better and totally no frustration with stuffing a balloon. Button Balloon Pattern
whew, I just uploaded a card for last week's challenge!
Hey, I'm title challenged-how do I change the url thread info into my card title when I'm posting here?
Fun challenge! Thanks, Beth! No balloons, so I used a sandwich baggie and peppercorns. Might have taken the black pepper thing a little too far with the colors I used
Well, no balloon here, so I took saran wrap and put rice in it and pounced my bg - worked just fine. I like the results, but it is messy! Thanks, Beth, for a fun time!
Well, I'll have to try this challenge with disposal latex gloves since I don't think I have any balloons, but this sure sounds like fun. I want to run home from work and play...but it will have to wait until after a meeting I have after work....I hate it when commitments get in the way of play time!!! Thanks Beth for a great challenge. Lynn in St. Louis
I think I need to try this one again. It didn't turn out like I pictured-not bad, but different that I thought. Now that I know what to expect, I'd like to try a different direction. It sure was fun poundng at my cardstock with my little bag of rice!

it has *something* to do with the little globe/link little icon but other than that, I'm clueless! Someone, please, help us out!
Glad you revised this technique, Beth. Didn't get to try it during VSN. This card was simple and quick once I got the glove filled with the rice. Rice Card
