Default SWAPPING OUT...Decorated Ticket Stubs Due May 1st

Are you one of those people who keeps everything because you just don't know if you'll need it? Well, I confess, I AM! When we don't win a raffle prize, I always feel like a winner when I save those tickets especially when they come in such great colors. I use them to stamp on the back for embellishments or use the backs for journaling spots. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of stamps and punches with tickets. They are becoming very popular.

So, here's my swap idea:

This is a 3+1 swap
Each spot will have a set of two tickets so if you sign up for one spot, you will make 3+1 (or 4) sets of two tickets for a total of 8 tickets. Each set of two should be packaged separately.

Use either recycled tickets or create your own but each ticket must be embellished with another layer of paper (matted is fine) and some sort of embellishment (stamping, ribbon, buttons, embossing, etc.)

Due May 1st
Please send your tickets with your real name and SCS name (it helps me when I'm sorting) with a return address label and return postage to:

Dorlene Durham
1173 Shearwater Drive
Patterson CA 95363

I made these gift bags and decorated them using recycled tickets. As you can see, I stamped "JOY" on the back and placed some washi tape over the stamped word. For this swap, you could mat the ticket on cardstock or place a piece of scrap paper on top of the ticket and follow the same procedure.

I'll take a spot. do they need to all be alike (duplicates) or can they be different?

Thanks ladies. I'll add you both. They should be similiar. If you're using scraps, they don't need to be exact. I would say the two should at least coordinate.

thanks I went through my ticket supply last night I have the same ticket in color and size a couple times without making them I couldn't duplicate the size/color of ticket.

I understand what you are saying all "birthday for example and the 2 tickets belong together as set like your example one stamped Happy and 2nd ticket stamped Birthday. and same embellishment idea like in button example. but the color & size of tickets make vary from set to set.

I also checked out interent search and the gallery yes there are some neat idea's out there I did not realize they were used so often now!!!

Just to be clear all 4 sets should be the same or just the two within a set?

All four sets should be the same. I mentioned that the two within a set should coordinate so let's say you decide to do a birthday theme, the two with coordinate (same theme, color, etc) and then you make the same thing 4 times to complete the spot. If you are using scraps, they don't need to be exactly the same, but similar.

I hope that was clear as mud

these are so easy and I can see several uses for them! moves along very fast when you start them. I found some cute spring color mini threads also they have a sparkle in them. you can't go wrong with sparkle!

NOPE, you can't go wrong with sparkle! LOL

I'll put you down for one more spot. These are quick and easy once you get your idea. I forgot to post the newest tickets I made. I'll try to remember to do it tonight.

Here's the other set I made. I layered the ticket with black cardstock; stamped a sentiment and added a big heart brad and tulle. This set has 3 tickets because I had three of those specific heart brads and wanted to use them all.

I was doing an internet search for greeting cards and design for a project and I stopped in at Pinterest. I can not tell you how many examples I saw using tickets and even combined with decorative hat pins.

I never had noticed but the use of these tickets really has grown and do make a difference in the look of the card. Thanks for pointing me to that un-discovered fact. I like the look!

maybe you should add tags made using tickets I saw 3 on Pinterest today very pretty I saved one and will upload it tomorrow for you to see! the ticket really "made" the tag complete!

A cards categorie also would be fun!

as well as tickets (which really is "card candy") You thinking of doing anoother or expanding this one?

There doesn't seem to be much interest but maybe adding categories will spark more. What do you think? Should I make changes and extend the due date? Or wait for a second round?

Okay, I realize my last comment is vague and didn't offer an opinion. So, perhaps expanding the categories would increase the interest? I'd take a spot for the cards or tags. Hope that helps

Dorlene, since you had only mentiond using them in cards I didn't know if you seen the tags, so I hope you don't mind but I got couple pictures for you of tags using a ticket!!!! I think thats a cool idea. sure adds to these I made a card the other night and had a small space so I added a ticket and it really changed the look. Thanks for showing something new I would not have thought of it if not for your swap!

Oh my Gosh!! Those tags are so beautiful! Thanks Linda for posting them!

I think for now I'll keep the swap as is since the tickets are meant to be used as part of a final project (card candy if you will). But if we decide to do a round two, it would be worth expanding to tags and cards as well.

I'll definitely sign up for that swap hint hint...
