What a creative idea for a swap - I'd love to do 5 but it looks like only 3 are open at this time. Please put me in #3, #4 and #5 and if you open more, I'll take two more spots.
Thanks for posting the pics, too - I wasn't quite understanding what this was until I saw those - I can't wait to get started!

Rachel -

So there are 11 peeps in each group and we make only 10.... so is this 10 +1 and we will get back one of ours?

Nope, you just make 10, and I will swap them around so that you don't get your own back.

So, you are basically just making them for the other 10 people in the group

Question - have noticed that there seems to be mostly pastel, muted colors used. I had a fun idea using neon colors - would that just ruin the look of the journal?

May I have slots in Groups 3, 4 and 5 please? Not only does this sound like great creative fun but the results will make wonderful gifts for my three adult children.

(How do you refer to your kids after they grow up? Well, after they stop getting taller? LOL)

Wow! This looks like it's going to be an awesome swap! I'm sorry I missed the opening of it. May I have the last 2 open spots after Terrie please? If more groups are opened, I'd like a couple more spots too.

Aloha, Mauiueno! I'd like to see your idea with neon colors! Since we're binding our own books and all of the pages are going to be different anyway, I think using neon will be fine. BTW, I've got ohana on Maui--Makawao and Lahaina.

I opened up two more spots,
(Not sure if these will FILL if not, we will make the number of spots minus one, feel free to sign up even if you already have 50 pages coming to you and you feel you can handle making another set! These can be used in scrapbook pages, smash books etc... and you may want to have the ability to be more choosey about what you put in your book, so a few extra pages might be nice to swap out here or there.):
Also, if you are new to the swap, this will give you 20 pages for your book! Not too shabby!

Is there a "usual" size for these? Does 6x6 work?

I've not worked on any journal projects before, though I do have some good lined paper for at least one set.

any variety of size will do... the book will likely wind up with no real general sizing, like the ones in the links! Whatever you are comfortable with.
My first set was 4x5, I think.
My second set is 6x6, here is my second set!

Hi Rachel -- I can give up one of my spots to PMR if she wants it and then I'd only be short so many anyhow that I can make and she'd get more!

Okay, started on mine and then the power went out!!! Ugh!

Did I miss anything about the backs? Are we to make them double-sided like in a book so your pages have 1-7 on each side?

My first set is 8.5" x 6.75" leaving about a half inch on the left for binding.
I bought envelopes to use for a couple sets too as I love that idea and look.
I added some positive quotes too, and also have a gratitude stamp to use on one set. I love this idea! Let me get thru my first five sets, then may do more even so I can make gifts. Dh is getting me the bind-it-all...

I have been building and rearranging these in my mind all weekend long! I've ordered some supplies, chosen some stamps for themes, considered and reconsidered different ways of doing the numbering. So much fun!

I'd like slots in the last two groups please. That will give me a total of 50 sheets -- perfect for my journaling year.

I'm also making extras of my own pages -- probably without the numbering because I certainly won't have 50 sheets -- to put together gift books.

Really, really loving this! Thank you so much.

These make up a lot faster than I thought they would! I cut out the items for two more sets last night, before it got dark completely in my house.

I felt the same way. The longest part for me is the design, and choosing what to use! Once I had that it was smooth sailing. So I am REALLY glad that I do not have to do the long part 50+ times! I am not that creative!

My thoughts exactly! That's probably why I've only covered composition books or used ready-made journals in the past because making a great-looking journal (even a so-called 'junk' journal) for myself just seems too overwhelming. And I bought a BIA several years ago for that purpose too! Silly, right? At least now I'll have a good start on a beautiful journal. Finally! Hooray!

Would you please sign me up for Groups 6 and 7, Rachel?
Thanks!
Tisha

Please sign me up for groups 6 & 7. I am interested in additional groups if added to get 50 weeks worth of pages.

Okay, I'm plugging along on these fairly well so I think I'm going to take spots in groups 6&7 also... I love this idea, DH is getting me the BIA, and I have two more folks in mind that I'd like to make these as gifts for also so I know I'll use all of the pages.

If you open an eighth group, I'd like a spot there too. That would give me a lot to start with at least to make 3 of these books!
