This swap is doing so awesome! Can't wait to see all of the projects!

I crocheted some soft little mini-purses this weekend... I actually started out making a cell phone cover for my own phone, and then liked it so much I made a few more as little purses, a bit wider than my one for my phone. I still have things I want to add for adornment, such as crocheted flowers and a handle/strap and button for the flap.

For those who sew, the AllPeopleQuilt.com website has lots of wonderful ideas too!

Good morning! Hope you all had a good weekend. Susan, keeping Baby G. in prayer! Lots of rain here, but we did manage to get lots of yard work done and some gardening. Grow, grow grow!

Thank you, Christina. PRAYER WORKS! I just heard she made it through the night without seizures and without any more need to resuscitate... hoping they have thus found the right dosage for her. Waiting to hear if they do the MRI next.

Oh My Goodness! Sheree was my secret sister in another swap and she sent me yarns with Koolaid packs in them... I had no idea why until Christina and Bugga explained to me you can dye your natural yarns with Koolaid! Here is a link Bugga provided: knitty.com

I saw that on the other thread and had no idea what she was talking about either. I checkedout the website you posted. I love the bright colors. I do not do any crafting with yarn though but still very interesting!!!

Four feet of water.

Our other house, the one we haven't sold yet... something has broken in the well pump house and there is 4' of water in it... DH went and tried to get some out, but after about 50 buckets and I warned him that there is wiring down there also so too dangerous, we have a call into the plumber and are praying that tomorrow morning he can resolve this and that the well hasn't run dry from whatever the problem is.
Prayers requested please! Oh boy.

The timing couldn't be worse either.. we just rented it to a young couple in church who needed help... and they just had their baby (2nd child) on Friday and she is having complications in the hospital... and the mother is getting released from the hospital anyday. Plus the dad is there with their one year old, and he has to go back to work in two days! Oh boy.

Susan I hope you get it all sorted out. I have been carless. I came home Thursday and it was spewing stuff everywhere. I do need to remember the blessings- I was home, the repair shop was just a few blocks away and the car made it there. I have a co worker who I live a few blocks from that I could get a ride to school with. My son was home for the weekend with his car so we could use it. They got the car fixed and realized it had a broken engine mount which caused the other problem. I got it back tonight. The bill wasn't too terrible. I hate broken stuff!

Checking in to see what's happening. It's been a tiring day and I'm going in to lie down and read for a while.

Happy May Day tomorrow!

Praising God... got a plumber to come this morning and he drained it all and then had to replace the holding tank. No telling what the bill will be yet, but we are grateful that he was able to fix it!

Update on the baby... they found she had a stroke and that was what caused the seizures apparently. Not sure of next steps but they said there was brain damage to the left side, however, the good side of that is that since she is still a baby, it wasn't like in an adult where they lose what they have learned... she will just begin learning anyhow, but not sure of impact etc. just yet. But praising God for progress and every step forward.

Thank you for prayers!!!

OLD??? You callin' me OLD?? At 59, I'm the new middle age!
However, it does seem like just last week we celebrated Thanksgiving. I cleaned out some cubboards over the weekend and finally threw out the half used bag of bread stuffing and the cranberry jelly partially used can in the back of the frig!

Oops, it's past my bedtime....gotta go.

Its scary, isn't it?
I realized that the other day when I laid down on my bed in the middle of the day. I never do that. I laid there, and started to close my eyes, and instantly the picture of my mom taking midday naps popped into my head! Yikes!

Lol! If only we could choose which ways we become more like our mothers! I don't have any siblings but my cousin told me once I was just like my mother. I haven't gotten over it yet and that was probably 20 years ago! Gritting my teeth lol.

Maybe it's already been asked and I missed it, but what kinds of handmade gifts would you ladies look forward to receiving? Anything specific you would like? Let's toss some ideas out there.

Default ok, i'm reqdy

well I've been thinking and thinking about this fun idea - lots of room for creativity - and Susan, can I have ONE MORE SPOT , because I could only narrow it down to 2 ideas.

1. I'm going to use your wonderful suggestion and make fabric teapot cozy and them I'll think about what I want to do for the paper piece

2. And my 2nd spot - knitted fingerless mitts, the paper piece will of course be something using all those wonderful winter papers that I have in my stash.

Casting on the mitts this weekend . . . no time like the present to get started!

I bought some fabulous yarn on sale this past weekend, in pumpkin orange and leaf green... so now have to figure out a fun Fall pattern I want to use. I was thinking pumpkin-shaped potholders at first, just haven't decided...

I have not thought about what I am going to make. I do not knit or crochet... so I guess that would leave sewing which I can do. I used to make all my kids clothes when they were younger. I do not drink tea or coffee, so I want to make something that not related to those...... Have not crossed that bridge yet...... giving it some serious thought though.
