I have seen these IRL at stores and they are TERRIFIC! I sure wish I could make those. All I can do is knit a straight stitch in a straight line...

Oh Margie, I think they are gorgeous!!!! Is that the yarn that is like net and you pull up one strand to knit? I bought my daughter some of that when I was down in FL before and sent it to her to make one of those fun scarves!

Beautiful!

The creativity is obviously beginning to swirl out there! I can feel it! (And see it in Margie's pics and links!)

Janice: I just had to tell you I finally wore out the cell phone cover you made in one of the past swaps... the velcro and strap finally gave out to my abuse!!! I love that thing! No I have a slightly bigger phone (smart phone) so have to make a new one! AND I use my water bottle holder too (the fabulous ladybug one you made).

Sheree: You are with me lots too... I use the teals quilted tote you made every day for work and always get so many compliments on it! Not to mention the fabulous chapstick holders!

You ladies have so much creativity... I can hardly wait to see all that results from this one!!!

The yarn is called frill yarn, it is a mesh type yarn and you knit thru the mesh holes. They are really easy to make once you get the hang of the yarn. I haven't fluffed out the ruffles very much, I thought I'd leave that to whoever receives them. The scarves will be different colors as I need to use up yarn I have left over, but they will be all the same pattern. Hope you all have a great day!

These really are simple and quick to make. All the stitches are knit, the yarn makes them interesting. You can look for videos on YouTube for frill yarn.

Well, for my 1st spot, I will be doing winter scarfs, crocheted, I started one last week to see how long it would take me and I am almost finished the 1st scarf now only 3 more to go. Not sure what I am doing for my 2nd spot but I am going to work on the idea asap and let you know. Happy crafting.

Its awesome, isn't it? Our music ministry is playing at two senior care facilities over the next couple of weekends actually, and I'm going to be talking to them about what items they need for Bingo, Christmas, etc. so am planning to use many of these for that, and will still be looking at doing things with the women's shelter as well and others in need through our church so believe me, they will be put to great use!!

after making my beautiful mug mat---which my coffee cup is not resting on---I had ordered a few jelly rolls to help in the material hunt----andit arrived via mail this week...now i have to get the majority of the sewing done BEFORE school ends...cause when summer starts there will be smaller windows of opportunity to craft

Hi Susan!! For one of my spots, I will be making button up neck warmers or cowl scarves. They are quick to knit up and really warm. They do not get in the way like a traditional scarf since they do not have "tails". Not sure what I am doing for the other, maybe I will sew something this time, we will see. Take care!!

Susan
Thanks for posting all these sites! I'll be checking some of these out this weekend. I don't crochet and I barely knit but I can sew a straight (semi-straight) line.

Good morning everyone!
It Sunday and sunny here in Oregon....supposed to rain all next week tho.

I'm pulling weeds and cleaning up the front yard this afternoon. Tomorrow I don't work so I'll have a whole rainy day to craft!

Good morning, everyone!!!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend... from the posts, sounds like it was beautiful weather and you were enjoying it!
We had some rain but overall a busy and great weekend. Friday, DH and I went to DC for the day for just us and it was a wonderful outing. Then Saturday we started out to get some gardening items but ended up doing a bit of shopping and flea market hopping, then home. That evening had to run to a hospital... a young couple at church just had their baby on Friday and its having complications/seizures so they put her in NICU and have her monitored and on respirators, etc. Please keep them in prayer and for the medical staff to figure it all out and help her. She has stopped breathing several times when she has the seizures. Sunday was busy with church activities and I did sneak in a bit of crafting and baking. Now back to work for the week!
