I just got my order in from Blessings Unlimited (I'm a consultant, see my signature block link if you are interested)... and they have this awesome printed canvas covered metallic/magnetic memo board... theirs is very big (and an awesome deal in April for hostesses)... but I was thinking those would be great ideas for this swap too even!
I may go see what I can figure out... I wonder if you can cut the metal sheeting to fit behind a canvas, in the frame, say of an already stretched canvas like you would paint... and you could stamp the front of it with Permanent inks even...

Or You could use canvas or fabric, stamped even, with the batting, and cover a frame/canvas, and add the criss-crossed ribbons and brads, like the "french photo boards" where you tuck the pics inside the ribbons to display them...

The ideas are starting to swirl....

Hi Christina and Jennifer, let me know if you decide you do. I was in Michaels today to pick up a candle and found myself wandering amidst the yarn....

Hi Susan---since you gave us until September I will take two spots also. My plans are to do quite a bit of sewing this summer...I was hoping to be able to afford an embroidery/sewing machine combo...thinking hard about it just haven't made the commitment yet. I will think about my items and let you know.

The stationery sets swap I hosted recently had some fabulous ideas too! Some made stitched stationery holders (Cupojafa for example!!!) and some also sewed placemats into the holders! Just some more ideas!

Margie previously made these awesome casserole totes!!!! I love mine!!!

I am still using aprons from the pocket swap last year, they are perfect for the garden and kitchen. I love the fabulous apron patterns that are now available, the retro look is so in and the ruffled ones so fun. Somehow putting on a fun, cute apron just makes baking happier, add a little good music... before you know it, you are whipping up masterpieces.

Some more ideas:

How about a pocket post-it holder with a spot to hold a pen too?
Car organizers that hang over the seat or have the velcro strap to go around the headrest on the seat in front. Same for those kind that go by the bedside or armchair.
Pillowcases or pillow covers (you don't have to include the pillow insert, just specify or include instructions on what size/how to insert).

Ok...I think I have it figured out...for one spot a "Simple Sewing Companion"..found here Simple Sewing Companion - Miscellaneous (intermediate) For the second spot "wine bags"..although I use them not so much for wine..so many things come in similar sized bottles..flavored oils, salad dressings, etc (even bath salts)

Welcome, Kari! Love coffee cuffs!

Margie -- Loving the sewing companion!! Super cute! And your wine bags idea made me drool thinking about the Pomegrante Balsamic I bought at EVOO in Denver... its an olive oil and vinegars 'bar' where you can taste samples of the various items they carry in vats, and then buy the bottles...

Susan, I googled EVOO what an awesome store...if I ever get to Denver again I will certainly look it up. They have an online store also Freshest Extra Virgin Olive Oil | Flavor Infused EVOO | Flavor Fused EVOO | Aged Balsamic Vinegar | Flavor Infused Aged Balsamic Vinegar | EVOO Marketplace | Denver & Littleton Colorado - looks great!

Oh, the balsamics there are beyond description. THe flavor in one little taste is so incredible compared to what you get in the grocery stores... your whole mouth comes alive. I bought the Pomegrante one and it is so awesome. You use so much less too just because its so potent!

I just found another similar one in Frederick, MD, so am hoping to go there to try it sometime soon. You may want to check for olive oil bars near you!

Update from mug RUG----Okay yesterday I had bought and washed the fat quarters...tried a pattern that was reversible...didn't look good at all----disappointed

TODAY tried another pattern----LOVE IT! I'm very very happy with my colors, my pattern and the way it looks all around

I need a third spot-flat iron/curling iron covers. I have 20 sitting here needing to be finished- maybe I can get my niece to make the tags. She's working 2 jobs and is a full time student but I usually spend some time each week with her. She likes to stamp but hasn't done any for a long time-maybe I can get my sister to do a spot also.I'll let you know.

Jen you have got to go try it, especially if you like balsamic vinegars for dipping breads in or on salads for example. THey have the most flavor!!! Its in Lodo, on the 16th street mall I believe.
And I think I read something that they are doing an event with the Spice shop downtown there too, which is also heavenly... Savory or something like that is the name!

Ihad just written down my commitments and a few have to get finished before i work any more on this---although my tags look lovely in my head for the dishcloth one...

AND thinking of one for the mug rug....

BTW my mug rug is keeping my coffee company and it looks LOVELY!

picking up more fabric so i can give this away for xmas....great gift idea
