oh my...this sounds absolutely GREAT!!! I love altering things. WOW...which one to choose? I'm a card girl so I'll do cards, and I like making mini books...so I'll take the altered boxes. Oh my such a wonderful idea for a swap.

Thanks much you won prize(s) for being first in category. also you meant altered tin right? the boxes was 3x3 for those cute 3x3 cards in all the swaps! I have so many now I need way to contain them so the boxes for 3x3 cards came to mind. BUT the altered tins are used all time for mini books (**see SCS gallery) there are several with books including some round tins. correct me if needed and I think it'll be fun.

May have to be a first for some as not everyone has even made those adorable mini books yet but we grow when we reach outside our comfort zone!!!I had actually toyed with idea of adding mini books if I did would you be interested in those as well?

Funny you mentioned them, I've made one and it was great but because of size time consuming for me I have fat fingers! was hard to create on such little page. Then lady comes by and says you some of the inches for the pages!!!!!! Like where was she when I needed some advice, really! lol

ADDED **** Mini books. had thought so much orginally about adding but didn't then first person in mentions them so maybe they were meant to be! Because these are so unique I will post pictures to gallery if you don't mind. For excitment and variety they can all be different I'm swapping within each category anyway. so if you send boxes you get boxes if you send cards you get cards if you send mini books then you get mini books! Enjoy since I will also participate in each section it will be interesting to see what turns up!!!! ** added some examples u tube has video's also of some different takes on mini story books. there are a lot of choices in style.

ok you were way to excited!!!! but your wish is my command (done) out of curosity what style of mini books do you like creating? I've seen so many from size of 1/2 dollar to 2x3 approximately and using every kind of materials.
I've done about a 2x2 using heavy cardstock they were a folding style that created many pages. the folding was diffcult for me. I've since seen many other styles I want to try something different.

Is everyone aware those little 3x3 boxes will house all your 3x3 cards made in other swaps. They make excellent stocking stuffers, teacher gift, mailman gifts, co-worker gifts etc. just add a tag and you are done!

Question, for the mini books...can I do the meander book or toilet paper roll album? Those are small and very quick/easy to make. If you don't know what the meander book is, it's a mini book made of just one 12x12 piece of paper. Search on youtube and put in meander book...you'll be amazed at these little books.

a local friend of mine called to come look at something she made. WOW she had created a stocking stuffer tin for every member of the family for this Christmases gift. She geared the theme to each individual and I've never seen such beautiful items and the time invested screams "I love you" wish I was on her Christmas list! the kids had games and girls had little polly pocket tins! mom's had variety from first aid to stress relief and even the guys had tins! she found at a dollar store little tool kits and added nuts & screws to their tin's and one she added tiny flashlight to outside for adding to a overalls pocket loop! so handy and creative. she'll get me a picture so you can see. there was cook book tins and story tins all centered around the interest of each family member!
what a heirloom item to keep can't wait to see what we can create! anyone else interested in joining there's still time.

WOW indeed! She sounds very crafty and obviously cares a lot about her family. What a wonderful idea! Can't wait to see a picture.
