Default ok to delete now PARTY TIME

Open/New Girls fashion party! Hats/shoes/purses & more

Hi Ya’ll, It’s a girls night out fashion party!!!!! This swap has many options so read through post #5 for all details and options available. DUE DATE IS AUGUST 20th plenty of time.and I’m asking no one mails during month of JUNE (I’m on 3 week vacation to see grand children J ) so with that said what’s the party all about?

REASON FOR THIS SWAP: I’m giving a group of 10 young women (pre-teen and teen) a party 1st weekend of Oct They are residents of a teen shelter! Many from broken homes and homes with violence and 2 as teen mom’s and all of them have never experienced a girls sleep over so we have a surprise for them that weekend and they will get their first sleep over with prizes, foods, gifts, and local entertainment. There are a group of senior volunteers working on this and I’m asking for your help as all these (+1) will be for their party!!!!

I would like each girl to end up with a treat box shoe (the seniors will be adding an Emory board and bottle of nail polish) and a card and we have gift bags handmade now and a cute recipe book or picture album would be wonderful, the little purses the seniors will add chap stick to them and other small items so keep in mind you are helping make a dream come true!
if we get enough response we will include some of the staff in a card as well.

SHOES, HATS, PURSES AND FOOD of course! We will have cards, tags and small note pads as options as well as couple small treat type boxes in couple categories. In ALL categories it is a 3+1 small quantity so you can enjoy different groups! If you just complete 1 group every 2 weeks you’ll be done in plenty of time. And as always in my swaps THEY DO NOT ALL HAVE TO LOOK ALIKE!!!!!!!!! Be creative and just roll with the flow they don’t have to be alike (variety the spice of life) lets make it a “spicy” swap. Items will require at least 1 embellishment more is always better.

Create items using any rubber stamps, machine die cuts, paper piecing, punch art, ANY media and feel free to use inks (alcohol and distress), and bling and fibers/ribbons! Fabric paper, specialty papers, etc

This party will have door prizes and games with chances to win prizes you must have taken at least one spot in any category to play & win! Every 10 names I will randomly put those 10 names in a cup and pull one for a door prize! So first happens at 10 then 20 and so on…….. in between we’ll have games. So it’s a party that means we’ll have games, prizes and food rewards! So let’s begin….

Post #2 shoes is the little favor boxes small and fit in palm of hand and I’ve posted pictures and patterns in post #1 you also have option to create shoe themed cards and tags, and little note pads see pictures.

Post #3 is all about hats!!!!!! Love a great hat. So we can create cards and tags and small post it pads or memo pads with the theme of hats. See pictures and pattern if you need one. Stamps welcome they are awesome stamps of hats available. Use any theme beach, country straw or cowboy, sport caps, high fashion vintage, party hats, silly hats, etc.

Post #4 is for all those who can create beautiful little paper purses or create cards or tags or small note pads with a purse theme! See pictures and if needed there is a pattern available. At least 1 embellishment but with purses that’s easy to do!

Post #5 Party food or drink !!!! Recipe cards size 6x6 of FUNNY NAMED party foods (any recipe) decorate in a party theme if possible. Maybe colorful and bright? How about recipes with funny names like Puppy Chow, Dump cake, Sock it to me cake, Frankenweeie beans, Kitty litter, Monkey bread, Whoopie pies, Grasshopper pie! You get the idea

Post # 6 Entertainment!!!! Make cards or tags using your favorite entertainment it may be a song, group, band, dance tune, a magician, etc (use these entertainer’s websites for additional materials) at least 1 embellishment …..keep them tasteful ladies J No full nudies ok! Lol

Special gift to anyone brave enough to take one spot in at least 4 posts!!!!!!! Please lets post pictures and share your creations, those are great encouragement to someone who maybe struggling because their mojo is not working at the time!

Any I don’t personally use will make into gift bags for local teen shelter at Christmas as well as I have 2 “young” fashionista daughter in law’s and one very fashion conscience teenager to do Christmas for so I thought I would create gift baskets around these items add some bath products and a cd and be done with those gifts. I need your help…..I’ve never been much into fashion and it’s been years, so I thought all you youthful ladies could lend a hand?

Read each of next 5 posts for your choices and in advance THANKS for helping make this event for the young ladies! we will add as many spots as needed no limit

The shoe treat boxes will hold their favorite snacks and the cards and tags will be part of the basket. The note pads are always useful and all of them cook or drink so the recipes will be helpful as well. I will probably start a recipe album for each of them 

Linda, this is such a GREAT cause! I'd told myself I wouldn't join anything new until after I get back from Thailand, but since the due date isn't until August, I'm going to break that rule and join! I can't resist helping young girls in a shelter.

I'd love a card spot in Shoes, Hats, Purses, and Entertainment, please. And I'll also take a recipe card spot.

THANK YOU for helping to brighten the lives of these young ladies!

This is a great idea and with plenty of time to create! I would love to help out this cause so please add me to the following groups:

Little shoe themed memo pads or small picture album
Hats themed memo pads or notebooks or picture albums
Purse (little paper purses)
Purse theme gift tags (**either 2x3, 3x5, 4x6, )
Purse theme standard greeting cards
Small note pad or notebook or picture album with a Purse theme
Gift tags Entertainment (**either 2x3, 3x5, 4x6, )
Mini memo pads or small picture albums

Questions: What size do you want the purses to be? Also, I was planning on making all of the purse items to match....will they be going to the same person?

Thanks so much!!!!! WOW how wonderful. the purses we have tried patterns out have been from a 8 1/2 x 11 page and the finished product isn't very big (sits in palm of hand) really it holds 1 item either a chap stick or small note pad etc. so just aim for a small sit in your hand purse I haven't seen any big even though they "look big" they are actually quite small, cute and dainty.

Matching is really ok, because YES in that case we would aim to have one girl receive all that were matching. Our seniors are working on a gift card in that little purse from a local merchant so as long as we can sneek a card in any one of the items we will be great!!!!!

it's been over 25 years since I had a girls party with my daughter and her friends I've got to tell you I'm excited also. I really want this to be memorable for them.

It is been in works for couple months we hatched this plan on Valentines day after one of the ladies presented it (she got to know a girl at bus stop) and since we have come to visit and know girls better. they all go to school so we set labor day as a little break from school activities they really are good girls its just life didn't give them a lot so far.

NO - they don't like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Casy, or Elvis!!

There are teenagers in the chorus I sing with - I'll ask them for suggestions....
They always want to help!! One girl explained my new cell phone to me. I'm STILL confused though - I'll have more questions to ask her at next rehersal!!

Linda, I just realized I have a Cricut cartridge that has all kinds of purse cuts on it, so sign me up for purse boxes! And if you need some extra purses for the party just let me know. Oh, the possibilities!

reminding us to Return What We Borrow… or else!

I accompanied my husband when he went to get a haircut. Reading a magazine, I found a hairstyle I liked for myself, and I asked the receptionist if I could take the magazine next door to make a copy of the photo.

"Leave some ID, a driver's license or a credit card," she said.

"But my husband is here getting a haircut," I explained.

"Yes," she replied. "But I need something you'll come back for."

wow what cartridge is that? I didn't know they have one but we maybe able to locate one here. and thanks I'll add you.

we used a paper pattern and cut them and as the ladies get time we assemble. lol, depends on who's arthritic hands are working best! (the joys of old age) anyway I thought if I located a cartridge locally we could use the idea again for some other event like at Christmas since most of us ladies do craft for a number of neighborhood children.

lol, no elvis OMG whats wrong with that picture? lol Isn't it amazing hoiw much young folks know at their age now. when I was a teen compared to a ten of today I was just plain stupid by today's standards.

lol, my grand kids teach me a lot!!!!! and my daughter is patient with me but son doesn't explain well and I get lost he doesn't like questions much either.

got to share my 7 yr old grand daughter thinks I'm something from a history book! and when I ask questions about some gadget (like my cell phone) or tv remote she gives me this sideways look with her face that just screams "it's ok we expect it" she rocks me I laugh so hard at her facial expressions! A poker player she will never be

Linda, the cartridge is called "Forever Young" and I see the date on the back of the manual is 2009. I purchased it in a bundle of cartridges someone was selling here on SCS.

An elderly gentleman checked into a New York hotel. The clerk mentioned the phone service the establishment made available for calling guests who wished to rise at an early hour.

"No need for that, young man," snapped the old timer. "I always wake up at five A.M. sharp without an alarm clock."

"Very good, sir," the clerk replied, then asked, "Would you mind calling me at six?"

A woman in Florida ordered mashed potatoes and was disappointed when they were cold. She requested a 50% discount, and instead received a credit slip to be used on her next visit. This visit came next Monday when the woman arrived again to speak to the manager. This ended in a fight, and the police were called after the manager had nearly been throttled.

Here are two of my sets of notebooks. The first one sits up like an easel card with a box inside to hold the post it pad. When the notes run out a new pad can be inserted. I saw this idea on a You Tube video here

The second one was a folder of post it tabs, purchased in a dollar section quite awhile ago. I just added a cut out purse to the outside and a layered sentiment to the inside.

The images are from a Cricut cartridge called Forever Young. Next I'll work on the notebooks for the hat theme and then do the purse boxes all from the same cartridge.
