Hi everyone
This idea came to me a few days ago and Ive been trying to figure out how a swap like this could work. I asked around the two swaps I am hosting now and I received valuable input from a few great ladies. They too, think this a great idea. If done correctly, this swap could be fantastic. It will be fantastic!
The idea is to create gift items for our hostesses! Most of us include something for the hostess as a token of appreciation for organizing and planning the swap we sign up for. The gifts we create within this swap will be just that.....gifts to include with your items.
As of right now we will have several categories to choose from. Please check out the list below and decide which one (or two or three) you would like to create. Which ones seem to be the perfect hostess gift? I am open to new item and ideas so please if you have them, share them!
Details:
Quantity is 5+1 (+1 is for the hostess, that's me!). You will receive 5 back.
Due Date is JANUARY 20, 2012. I will swap and return them within 14 days.
Since there is a variety of gifts all I ask is that all of your gifts are top quality. Something that you would enjoy receiving.
Please sign the back of your gifts with your name so we know whose work to admire!!
Feel free to sign up for as many spots as you like, but please make a different item for each spot. There is no limit.
If for some reason you cannot complete the swap, please PM me and let me know. I understand life happens and some things are beyond our control, but please be considerate of others in the swap. Please let me know ASAP if you cannot complete your part so I can find someone to fill that spot.
Mailing Instructions:
Place holders in a large ziplock bag for waterproofing. Include a card/paper with your name, SCS username and name of the swap in your bag. Include a SASE with the same amount of postage that it took to mail to me along with 2 extra postage stamps in the bag for me to use in case return postage is more. I will return extra postage not used.
**Please do not use metered stamps. They are only good for the day they are printed.**
Those of you that choose to sign up for more than one spot, please take the time to calculate what it cost for you to send your items and then include a couple of extra dollars on top of that just in case the return items cost more. (For example, if it cost you $4.75 to send your items, please include $6.75 for your return goodies.) I will return all unused monies. I cannot cover any extra postage that may incur.
When you are ready to mail your cards send me a PM and I will send you my address. If we have swapped before, my address has not changed.
Those of you who have signed up for my swaps, know that I always include challenges and some pretty good prizes along the way so let's have some fun!

Ummm Im not sure what size that is 5x7? 6x9. I guess as long as it fits in at least a #2 envelope we should be ok?
Please pass the word around about this swap. I want it to be wonderfully popular so all of the hard working hostesses get little surprises! I was just reading that SCS has about 120000 active members -- can we get them all? lol

Any idea how you can have so many lines in your signature and I can only have 3. I had to remove my Girly/Sassy swap in order to pimp this one

Sounds fair. If noone joins the checkbook catagory that is okay I will just hang on to them and use them as hostess gifts. I was thinking about what you said earlier about SCS being a daily therapy session. There is some truth to that. If not therapy, a good distraction anyway.
That would be awesome if you would post about this idea in your swaps. Mercix2 I believe there are around 100000+ active members right now that we can get to join. lol

This swap is the collaboration of a few ladies who have hosted once or twice and we feel this list will please the majority of us.
We want all of our hostesses to appreciate and enjoy their small token of appreciation when they receive our gifts. We want them to say 'awww or wow'; not 'huh?'
We have a good selection going -- afterall, the list was created by hostesses so it must be good, right? If you think of a category that suits you and entices you to join, please let me know and I will add it to the list.

What type of handmade embellishments are you thinking? When I add this category I was thinking felt diecuts. What are your thoughts?
