So yesterday, when all our company left, I organized all my ideas for my spots - cannot wait to now gather all my materials to get started. And then, as it always goes - cannot wait to see the changes I make before pau!
You're ahead of me. My ideas are still in my head. I need to write them down or sketch them out. I'm sure they will change as I do the creating. It'll be fun!
So i realized when I set this up... that I did 10+1 with 10 in each group. that would mean that you would get 1 of your own back. Is everyone ok with that? (provided we fill up)
It's not a big deal. If it works out that way, okay. This might get confusing and be a lot of work, perhaps you could swap out that extra page with other groups. I plan to make myself one of my own pages, so I'd prefer not to get one of my own back. However, do what works best for you. I appreciate you organizing the swap and going through the work of it all. Let it play out and see how many sign up.
I am going to be making these for Christmas presents for next year - that's why I need to get started early. Sure wish there was a Michaels near by so I could start stocking up on 6x6 albums. What ideas do you have for binding?
I added another spot to each group as to NOT get one of your own back but if we do not fill... then that will change everything LOL.
I have looked into a Bind It All machine to do some binding but I am not sure how much I would really use it. Thankfully at the moment, I can use the binding machine at work (on the sly). With the last ones, I just punched holes and put them on 3 rings. I am not sre how sturdy it will be in the long run but it worked at the time.
The holes and rings provide one idea for sure. One of my missions is to find/create frugal bindings. I also want to start a blog so I'll be able to share these ideas. Anyone have any tips for a first time blogger?
never able to tackle a blog myself. I will be honest, I sorta have this fear that no one would ever go to my blog and I would be blogging for myself LOL Part of why I never started one.
I have four of the five spots completed! None of them turned out the way I had envisioned, they kind of took a life of their own as i was working on them.
I do have a Bind It All and love it. It doesn't get used all that often, but when I need it I have it at hand. I do need to find some more coils online. anyone know of a source?
As far as blogs go, I have one and enjoy it. I don't get much traffic and even less comments, but it has been a great place for me to record what I've made and see my growth as a crafter. I tend not to post personal and family info on it, as I'm a private person, but I like it for crafts!
Mahalo for the info Paige. Just checked out your blog - lots of similarities between us! Except your creative work is where I want to be - looking forward to following your blog!
Thank you for the kind words Marilyn! When I started my blog three and a half years ago, I went to the blog forum here on SCS and started at page one and read all the way thru. I found great advice and helpful tips on starting a blog. I'd be happy to help you any way that I can.
Simply put - until someone can share some pictures - take a 6x6 piece of card stock and put the numbers 1-7 on the LH side - about 1/2 inch from the edge. You could use dark colored or busy paper and attach strips of solid paper next to the numbers to write that day's gratitude. Pages can be decorated too. There are soooo many options and I am sure that pictures will be forthcoming!
Mauiueno did a great job explaining it. Yes, pictures will be forthcoming as she said. I'll try to post a picture of a page I did earlier this year. Others may have a picture they could share. Good idea!
I personally hope that some of you who have never tried something like this will join us. The pictures will help, I promise. Making a gratitude journal - or even just a page, is part of the whole process of expanding our personal gratitude experiences.
My five sets of pages are all done! I hope to take pictures of each and post on my blog. Will let you know when they are up. I have a ton of swap packages to mail this coming week, so hopefully these will be among them. Jennifer, I'll let you know when they are mailed. Oh, I think I need your address...again! I promise I'll keep it in a permanent place, since I seem to join many of your swaps!
I'm on to thinking of covers for my journal. I know this is a long way off yet, but is anyone interested in posting pics of our journals here when they are all bound and completed? I'd love to see what you do!

Here's a picture of a Gratitude Journal page I did for another swap. I joined at the tail end of the swap and I had to make my pages & get them in the mail ASAP, so my example is simple, but it might give you an idea of what this is all about.
Ok I will join but I have a questions (maybe a few since this is my first time). Can I use front and back of the page, like numbers 1 - 4 are on the front and 5-7 are of the back? Or do all #s 1-7 need to be on the front?
