Thought I had finished my fiber scarves but some of the strands are too loose so I have a little adjustment to make before I mail them out. I will try to take pictures before I package them up too.

Four wonderful fiber scarves and handmade gift cards are on there way to you.

I think you should keep the purple magenta one.

Can't wait to see what everyone else sent.

GORGEOUS!!!!!!

I never used to wear scarves until about four years ago, then fell in love with shawls and scarves.

With this weather of late, I broke out my scarves to wear too. Wearing a purple one today, big long one I crocheted a few years ago from Homespun yarn, more like a big giant shawl wrap. Over a purple wool jacket. I'm ready for Fall.

Fabulous job, Marilyn!!!

I was 74 at my house today. I didn't even wear a jacket to work this morning. I'm off to a sewing conference for 2 day.

Marilyn -- Your scarves are obviously a hit!
Did you make them with the two strands of yarn and fibre yarns together?
Fabulous! You may have to share the instructions!

I think this Halloween was the first in quite some time that it was not snowing or had snow on the ground. It was actually fairly warm. I had to go to school last night though so Little Miss went trick or treating with Grandpa. She had a great time!!!

As for this swap, I bought my supplies this week and am going to bust them out this weekend! I have been tossing around a few different ideas. Not sure which ones I will go with until I sit down to make them and I will see what comes out!!!

It's really, really late on Thursday night. I'm already planning my weekend. I am going to clear off the dining room table and GET DOWN TO BUSINESS! I'm going to get my fashion accessories done and in the mail next week!

Keep your fingers crossed.

I have the instructions in a MS Word file. I'll see if it can be posted here.

I used a soluble stabilizer which was sold on a roll. It was moderately difficult to work with but since I didn't know how it would work I made it work. The photos in this document, which was off the web shows an opaque stabilizer but the one I used was translucent.

Ladies... The threads of yarn and fiber were stitched with sewing thread. I found that the yarn occasionally pushed into the bobbin case and snagged the scarf.

The scarves are as soft as the fibers you pick and I have a whole tote of yarn of various shades and textures.

Last night I made glasses chains for this swap. You know --- the ones that are beaded necklaces with the eyeglass loops on the ends to hold your glasses on? I love those. Had one and lost it so I have been wanting to make another for myself and finally did last night. I also made others for this swap too. One is white/red/black/silver with ladybugs glass beads on it. Another is pink and green with roses on beads. The other is purple with silver charms.

OOOOOH! I would like dibs on the purple one! I'm going through a "purple" phase and I'm collecting all things purple. I've got 4 different shirts in purple, purse, eyeglass holder (store bought), change purse, etc. Thanks!

Speaking of.....my eyeglass cases will be in the mail soon.

Wow... I have been slacking! We had some issues happen and I wholly set aside my crafting endeavors to deal with family crises... and now, I gotta get cracking on these! Good thing I work well under pressure.

Default alright!

FINALLY - both of my conferences are DONE. I ran a conference for 200 GED teachers Oct 2 and then ran a confrence for 150 ESL teachers Nov 2. I now have my life back

So - I made a decision - I made my shrinky dink bracelets and they've been sitting here for a week and I've been looking at them --- and I just can't bring myself to send them to you. I'm just not happy with them, probably shouldn't have experimented. They look like - well, if your grandchild made one for you you'd wear it because it's from your grandchild - but with the quality of work that you all do, it's just not up to snuff.

So-o-o I'm off to my favorite run-by-a-very-clever-woman fabric store to see what she can suggest that is nice AND quick. I'll update you guys tomorrow

I have done that before. One of the ideas I ahd for this swap is not as "NICE" as i think people would want. It is more functional than it is cute.....

I had really hoped to do 2 spots but time got away as usual!! But I did get my 1 spot finished...they are in a box ready to mail, just need to stop at the post office! I had intended to make keyhole scarves but really did not like how they were turning out. So I unearthed a cute seed stitch bracelet pattern I've been saving for a while...I think they turned out cute! Hope they are liked! .

Susan...I love these swaps! Gives me a chance to try new things and have fun...while receiving some wonderful and unique items in return.

Posting this from my phone but I'll try to add a pic here later...

Default got it!

ok - I have defaulted to what I know I'm good at - embellishing. My project is a holiday embellished craft tote. It is a canvas tote with 6 outside pockets, a large center pocket, sturdy handles and a drawstring for the top. So . . .

- if you're going to a cookie making party you could tuck your cookie cutters and your apron in the center and all your sprinkles and frosting knives in the outside pockets

- if you're going to cardmaking party or a crop, you could tuck all your materials in the pockets and off you go

- if you're going carolling you could tuck your map and your songsheets in the center, and your flashlight and snacks in the pockets

and who knows how else you might use it! If you get one, I hope you like it! Ann Marie

Hey swapping friends....

Some of you know about DH's cousin's grandson Mason... He is 6 yrs old but has a rare form of adult leukemia. Recently, they lost their insurance so I am hosting a Tastefully Simple party online as a fundraiser to help the medical expenses. If you would like to help, please let me know via PM as I don't want to violate any rules here otherwise. Thanks!

Mine went postal today. Sent by priority post so you should have them on Monday. Please let me know when you receive them. I made earrings and little boxes and tags for them. I forgot to take a picture before mailing them so can't show them. Sorry about that.

Dibs!! LOL

Susan...fyi...mine went postal today! No time for fancy wrapping, but I recycled some old jewelry boxes and wrapped the bracelets around tissue so they wouldn't get squished! Also added a couple little goodies for you...hope you like them! Oh! I forgot a return label to reuse the box! Agh!! I read today there was a study that linked forgetfulness with pregnancy hormones...maybe I have a few leftovers! Ha! I did remember to include money for return postage...I guess that's something!
