The power of prayer is amazing, and I find there are always so many people that I want to pray for, so I keep a prayer journal. I know many of my friends and family also keep prayer journals, so they are always excellent gifts too.
So I thought it might be nice to have a Christian Prayer Journal Exchange.
Here is how it works:
1) You post here that you would like to be a part of this exchange. 2) PM me with the following items: Your Name
Your SCS ID
Your Mailing Address
Your favorite colors/themes/ideas that may help your
assigned Sister in Christ make a prayer journal
for you.
What kind of journal you would like, i.e. prayer,
blessings, gratitude, general/diary, blank for drawing,
etc.
3) I will close the list by a set date for that round, and send you the name and address for the Sister in Christ for whom you will make a journal. 4)You make the journal for her and send it directly to her no later than the due date for that round. 5) You post on this thread when you mailed, and also when you received please.
Requirements: Please make a journal at least 5”x7” in size, and that you would be pleased to receive as a gift. Decorate it well and use quality products, embellishments, scripture verses/stamps/décor on the inside and out. It needs to have space to write in (to write prayers or requests for example), and encouraging scripture/verses/words. You may also include little bonuses such as cards for them to send those being lifted in prayer, bookmarks, scripture cards, pens, pockets to hold things, etc.
Mailing Tips:
I do not recommend Priority Mail as it isn't guaranteed any faster than First Class, and I recommend UPS or Fedex if cost is comparable.

The power of prayer is what I am leaning on right now ... there is nothing quite like it to get you through the hard times as well as the good times. Count me in.

You can count me in...I made a journal last year, so would love to do one again.......and it goes right along with my New Years goals of being positive! I agree though, some samples would be nice to see???
WOW! Talk about the power of Prayer!!!
I have to tell you ladies -- I have been praying that I would find more ways to encourage others and share the Word, and grow in it myself. I love to craft and found SCS a wonderful way to share that, and am finding such a wonderful positive response to Christian swaps too.
This one just made me laugh and cry (joyfully) at the same time this morning, as when I posted this thread last night I wasn't sure if anyone would really want a prayer journal but thought I'd give it a shot! Here I log in this morning, and there were 10 PMs, and I thought to myself, "What on earth happened??" -- Then I see they are for prayer journals and that there are already 11 of you signed up!!!
God's blessings!!! And such wonderful testimony and sharing of needs on here as well!
I will try to find some examples and post them in the main first post today.
Teena --
I'm sure it will be alright to PM your Sister in Christ, or perhaps post here on the thread too (we all always love more ideas!). If for some reason you want to keep your identity secret until the end, however, you can also PM me with the question and I'll ask your Sister and then get you an answer via PM, or you could post a question in general on the list, such as "what is your favorite scripture?" and have everyone answer and hope yours answers there too.
I'm so excited that you all want to do this one too!! You've made my day, and answered prayers!! Thank you!!
PS -- Teena -- you will need to clear that PM box though for you to get those PMs... hahaha
There are SOOOOOO many wonderful examples in the gallery -- just search for Prayer Journal!
Many used altered composition or bound notebooks, but also saw some great examples of others bound with the Bind-It-All etc., altered store-bought journals, etc. I posted some links in the main thread but there are so very many more!
I also saw great examples of cards, pens, etc. to go along with them so also posted some of those.
You will want to make these with space to write in too -- not just quotes or such as a devotional would be.

Hey Doodlegirl! We meet again!! Hope your doodle's keeping warm in the cold!
Before I decide... does anyone have an idea to format the pages inside the journal? Will you make columns for "date," "request" and "answer"? Or perhaps a special section for answers? Or do you plan to leave the pages blank for the user?
I think you could do either way though I generally leave mine blank just because every one sort of has their own way to do it. I've seen some write them as a diary, some as a 'ledger' list, etc. I think any way you want to do it would be fine and appreciated!

Too funny! I remember them having names for every day of the week. Wednesday being the middle 'hump' of the week that you had to get over to head into the weekend...
I'm so excited about this swap! Thanks for sharing it with me and please invite all you know to join!
I have a question I didn't think of before, can we specify which version of the Bible we would prefer scripture is used? I use the KJV Bible exclusively, does that matter? Thanks.

If you want to update your "Info" and send me a new PM, I can use that to send your Sister in Christ.
Many of the stamps and quotes I have on materials do not state which version, so it would be hard for me to limit myself that way in making one.
And since they would only be as decorative/added inspiration, would it be critical?

I hear ya! I had the heat on in the bedroom last night and it struggled to stay warm it was so cold here. This morning we had just a skiff of snow. I wish we would get a lot of snow because we need it for the water levels and to kill off the bugs!
