Ok I found 4 regular size books. How many pages do I need to alter in side besides the front and back cover
This is a direct quote from the first page:
alter the front, back and inside covers using papers and embellishments in your theme. Of course, use any and everything from your stash. You will also alter 4 (or more if you want) pages inside that go along with your theme
So it's
1) Front and Back AND inside covers
2) 4 (or more) inside pages that go along with theme
On the Outside on the front and back of the journal, the inside of the front and back and you'll alter 4 pages inside--don't get intimidated with the inside pages, you can keep it simple with just stamping in a corner or putting stickers on the page. If you need some more "elaborate" ideas, I can direct you to my gallery under altered journals and there you'll find some of the inside pages to give you ideas.
You'll have fun once you get started....for me it's the "getting started" that's the hard part
Ok, I covered my books, now I need to add some stuff too it. Plus some inside pages. My theme is Princess but not the girlie type more of a garden princess. It is the paper set from close to the heart called daydream.

I better get you signed up!
Ohhh I need to look up that paperline! Sounds romantic!

I got the paper pack awhile back from a Secret Sister swap, so I don't know how old the paper is. I didn't know I had it since I have so much stuff. I have been trying to clean up and organize my 'hoard' better. My craft room and supplies share the guest bedroom/kids hang out room upstairs. The kids where complaining that I was taking up too much room and it needed to get under control
The paper is not staying on the inside covers for my books! Very frustrating. I am using the Tombow snail glue (the blue one) and it works great on the front and back but the insides are falling off. I have even tried to put heavy books on them.
What type of glue/adhesive does eveyone use and swear by? I think I need to change mine.

I use glue sticks when I'm covering my comp books. Maybe rough up the inside covers with sandpaper, it might help the glue you are using to hold better??? The thickness of your paper might be a factor too, or if you are gluing into the fold of the binding.
I dont see my post. I wanted to do this altered journal. If I still can I have already made the 4 in a 4X7 journal. I used vintage theme I am almost finished. If it is too late I will wait for another.
I couldn't be without my ATG....no need for scor tape!
I checked out the prices for the ATG 714 and it is pretty spendy. I might have to break down and get it. I have gorilla glue somewhere, I wonder if this would help just to get it to stick.

Oops! I'm glad you checked in! I'll put you down...I'm thinking those would be closer to a mini comp book....so I'll get you down in the mini group

I used Elmers craft glue on mine. Kind of a trick...you paint on the glue with a brush let it dry to tacky, put on another thin coat then put a thin coat on your paper put them together and smooth. It adhere's forever! I still have my comp book I made last year and the cover is firmly on! You can buy Elmer's in the craft section at wal-mart...it's by the Eileen's fabric glue.
Only gramak8e's today...I even had my mail hand delivered! I like the postman on monday's..super nice! The lady who delivers during the week is mean and hates climbing my stairs. I think sometimes she just hucks it up on my porch.....need to do one of those game cameras and catch her in the act
I've got my first ones done. The mini's are called "Christmas". I believe I will name the next ones "Pockets"~the idea in my head looks so cool~hope it turns out that way also!
I'm going to subscribe for now. I need to go to the store and see if I can find those mini composition books. I know what they look like in my brain, not if I can only find them. This swap should be a blast!

Those sound fabulous Robin!! I can't wait to see how the "pocket" ones turn out!!

Would love to have you join in the fun! Hope you find some!!
Here's a pic of GramaK8e's mini comp books. I took just one photo of what she used inside. I have to say these are the perfect size for those elusive passwords we need to keep online!! LOVE them!!
I have finished the front cover, the inside cover and the first page. I only get about 90 minutes to 2 hrs a night, if I have no interruptions. Want to have them in the mail by Friday of next week.
I just need time. With our crazy school schedule I teach 7 classes -2 subjects on Monday through Thursday. 4 different subjects and clases on Friday. It's killing me. I found the mini comp books at dollar tree. They were 3 packs.
Pardon my stupidity...but why do you teach so many classes??? I thought there were rules about a maximum amount of classes and/or class time for teachers. They need time out of class to do all those other teacher things (grading papers, planning & preparing for lessons, meetings, etc). I can imagine you must be very exhausted by the end of the week!

WooHoo!! Can't wait to see them! I have the same issue...it's amazing how quickly the time can fly when you're crafting but drag by when you're doing mundane chores and errands!
Working on my mini books today. I've been gluing papers & stuff together then I JUST remembered I had a theme. Will have to do some minor modifications.
I teach so many classes because I'm at alternitive high school and the kids need to make up alot of lost credit. That why they are at my school. The Friday thing is new this year-we'll see what the outcome is besides tired teachers.
