JCI. I've been busy preparing our extra bedroom (where we stored all the stuff we didn't feel like taking up to the attic) for my oldest son who's moving in later this week and getting my classes lined up for the start of school next month. I'm taking 15 credits. Should be interesting.

I plan to get as much done on my few remaining swaps this weekend if I can kick the cold my grandson was kind enough to share!!

I am back from Stampaway, BOY, AM I POOPED!!! What a wonderful 3 days of classes and shopping. I was able to find the tags for the dolls, ordered the wings which should arrive sometime next week....2 booths offered the doll stamps but nothing to go with them. Otherwise, except for Paper Crazy, no one had anything to go with them. I found lots to buy, lots to try and everything on my shopping list. Had 2 great classes on Distress Stains in which I learned quite a few new tricks. 2 other classes were using dies and embossing folders and stamping and assembling and were back-to-back and I was mind-boggled before I got thru them so note to self, don't to that again. Lots of good company, good food and lots of laughs. Can't wait till next year. If you have a chance to spend a weekend in Cincinnati in early August next year go to STAMPAWAY, you won't be sorry.

SO... I PROMISED ANOTHER CHALLENGE!!! WITH PRIZES!!!!

Everyone can participate, even if you've won before.
BUT, you cannot submit the same idea/creation as you did for a previous one.

HERE IS THE PRIZE:
The LSS here had a package of the borders/script that goes along with these gals.
There are 6 in a package --- so I'm going to split them up for this challenge and you can win 1 (limit 1 per person) of the border stamps for submitting a picture of a project you have created using one (or more) of these dolls using non-ribbon textiles in the project -- i.e. fabric, yarns, 'hair', etc.

AND --- This challenge is open for you to all submit through Sunday. A limit of one per person but I will give a prize to each of you who does the challenge by then.

Ladies: Start your creative engines!!!!

Susan, if I made a gal with a dress and the skirt part is fabric, does that qualify? I think I have other ribbons etc on the piece as well, does that disqualify? Thanks for the offer! Blessings, Lela

That definitely would qualify to submit for this. The ribbon is fine, doesn't disqualify, just as long as you used the textile otherwise!

These are wonderful!
Is the fabric adhesive backed already or are you using an interfacing or something like Xyron to make it sticky?
You are on a creative roll with these dolls! Very inspiring!
If Prima hasn't picked you up yet as a designer, they need to!

Susan, thanks for the sweet comment.

About the adhesive.... I am taking a Claudine Hellmuth technique class and she happened to mention in an off-hand comment in the chat area of the class that using matte medium for fabric collage works just as well as it does for paper collage. I used matte medium on the fabric just like I do with paper -- I used it to adhere the fabric to the board, and then I used the matte medium on top (to seal, and for whatever other reasons we use matte medium on top.... to firm down the elements I guess .

That one tip was worth the price of admission to the class! It totally works!

Blessings, Lela

Thanks. Did you stamp the fabric before you used the medium on it? I would worry it would cause it to smear... Did you use Fabrico or Stazon or such?

I either used Stazon or Archivals Black.... likely Archivals Black. Stamped first. No smearing. I am pretty sure for that one that I cut each panel separately for more dimension, hence the need to find a way to outline each panel. Pitt pens are lovely too. There are many products that work with multi-media, are permanent, and don't smear after they are worked. Try it! (And I vote for YOU to try the shrinky dinks!!!

Oh, I definitely will be trying shrink plastic with these but I don't have my stuff just yet. I moved to Boise Idaho in April and couldn't find a house I liked so ended up contracting to build a custom home... well, here it is 4 months later in temporary apartments/hotels and the house is due to be finished in 2 weeks and I should close on it finally in three weeks. So I won't be unpacking all of my stuff that has been in storage for 4 months already until the beginning of September... But then will have an awesome craft room to use to create all I want.
