So sorry, Barb. Can I send you some on cardstock?

I'm hoping to get in craft time this weekend. Been a very rough and emotional week for me here and I need some time thinking about other things.

Barb, if you don't find one at Stampaway, give LuAnn a call. This block is perfect in size, is nice and thick and has grid markings.

I used a light flesh colored pattern paper for the only one I have made so far: Prima Doll Altered Candy Tin by parknslide - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Prima has a Youtube video by Julie Nutting, the designer of the stamps and that's what she used. She actually has a new paper pad specifically for skin tones. New Doll Canvas with Julie Nutting on Live with Prima - YouTube

I didn't get to work on mine this weekend after all but got four other swap items done so it was still productive. Hopefully this weekend, planning to spend time at Archivers crop night(s) and work on them!

Anyone tried them on the shrink plastic yet? Wondering how it works or if they curl up/warp too much...

My research about coloring the skin tones:

1. I just ordered the "buff" paper pack, thanks for that lead!
2. I used Claudine Hellmuth "traditional tan" on the first set of dolls that I made and I like them. ETA: Oh I didn't use the paint just outright. I mixed it with her "slow extender" for whatever reason. That gave a more transparent look I think and gave me time to move around the color.
3. I bought the Copic "skin tones" pack of markers but so far my experiments have the girls looking too orange.
4. I haven't tried colored pencils yet. Not sure which colors I would use.
5. I know I have some retired SU! "Blush Blossom" paper, which is purported to be great for skin. OH, and I have a "Blush Blossom" marker too. Need to try that.
6. I bought a book about mixing skin colors with acryllics. I've played a bit with some of the color mixing and found a color I liked but didn't try it on the dolls yet.
7. I love pan pastels for coloring the cheeks. I heard that alcohol ink, and copics, are also fun for the cheeks.

OCD much? It's all good. I like techniques and learning, and I have the space/funds to try the different mediums.

I've been taking the Christy T. "she art girl" series of classes ... I am VERY drawn to want to create girls .... I am enjoying the journey.

Blessings,

Lela
