Lily_Louise how was your Christmas there in Japan?
Different is the answer!! DH had to work then in the evening we went to the hotel restaurant for their Christmas special meal with the guys from DH's team and the other wife who just arrived. Basically it was seafood and steak but very beautifully presented in 5 courses but the funniest thing was when DH ordered 2 bottles of wine! One red, one white. They brought them and poured one glass each whatever your choice then took them away again!! We had expected the usual 'leave the bottle' on the table once the first glass was poured but they just didn't understand. I am soo looking forward to a turkey dinner when I go home! After today DH has a week off for the New Year and he'll be travelling to Osaka with me to make sure I get on the plane and check in my now 3 suitcases(yes I had to buy an extra one AGAIN!) for all the pretty papers and beads and other stuff I've acquired in the month I've been here!!
Must go get a shower and get out of here for an hour or two! Looks like a 'shopping' day as the weather is not very nice. The last two days have been so very nice and warm and sunny!
Has anyone NOT started the candy yet? I could be in big trouble. I just got home from Saskatchewan tonight but we are expecting the other side of our family tomorrow to celebrate New Years with. I am starting to worry I will never find the time to get my card candy done.
Charlene - I've seen how quick you can come up with something! Besides, you can always drop off as you are in Calgary!!!!! Ya got lots of timde! You can do it! lol Did I mention that I am putting mine in an envelope now? heehee

and now I feel short-sighted, post-christmas, to have done 2 christmas spots...everybody is okay with that right?
I'm not going to decide anything until I am not sick though...
It will only be a day away to Calgary , I always sent priority anyway...so I'm telling myself I still have time

Charlene, I know you can do it!!! You ONLY have 1 spot. I've lost count as to how many I have left to do. But, they will be done and on time.
Plus, as Kyla said, we have seen you in action. You can drum up stuff faster than I have time to think about it.
Just to let you know, Winterbloom has asked to be removed from this swap due to a death in her family. This is what she wrote :

Please do let the others know why I've dropped out. My brother and I were 19 years apart in age but we developed an incredible bond in the last two years when his health was failing. He was a widower and had no children, so I must deal with all the estate issues. He had been paralyzed since he was 19. He was an incredible man and I shall miss him dearly.

My sympathies to Maryanne and her family.
To Claire and everyone in the swap, Thanks so much for your concern and thoughtfulness. I shall miss not being a contributor in this swap. SCS is a great community and I feel like I have another family here. I will try to keep in touch and hope everyone has a great swap.

Claire, so sorry I didn't see this post earlier or I'd have offered to take a couple more spots. Maryanne is such a lovely lady and does such pretty work, I've swapped with her many times in the past and what she says is absolutely true. She's never reneaged on a swap. I feel so sad for her right now, it's always hard when you lose someone you are so close to. My thoughts and prayers fgo out to her right now. If you need any extra spots filling or doing, I'd be happy to oblige. I'm almost finished my second set but just need to add a couple of extra touches when I get home or rather I need some of my tools!!!
