Reason: ADDING SKETCHES...
Wow me? I get all my inspiration from all you girls here at SCS! I started scrapbooking almost three years ago after my youngest DS was born and my first pages were for his book. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Brian, since 1991 and we have three kids, Matt 10, Lindsey 8, and Trace 2, so I have a lot of scrapbooking to do! I try to keep fairly current and then also go back and do older pictures as well. I find the hardest part of scrapbooking is sorting and organizing my photos! Ugh! My best friend (who I moved away from waahhh!) brought me to my first stamp camp (CTMH) about 4 years ago and I got hooked on stamping with her. She had scrapped forever and I was way intimidated by her beautiful books. We became friends with a SU demo and I loved her scrapbooks as well. I finally got up the nerve to ask my two great friends to teach me to scrapbook and they said, Well, just start. Youll know what you like and just do it. Yeah, thanks a lot! I love love love SUs scrapbooks and page protectors and although I use CTMH cardstock and inks, I use SU stamps and tools and scrapbooks. I like bold colors, simple layouts and think that telling the story is important. I find it hard to incorporate pattern paper and a lot of textures in my layouts, but have been challenging myself to do that lately. I get my inspiration from cards and pages from CTMH, SU and my SCS friends! I dont spend much time or money in scrapbooking stores I think I just get overwhelmed in there! I havent gotten comfortable with my scrapbooking until very recently, maybe 6 months ago. I finally feel like the way I do my pages is okay and that I dont have to scrap according to a set of rules or scrap in a way or style that someone else does. I am comfortable with my style and enjoy looking through my books. Oh, there are some pages that I would love to fix, but I leave them alone. My kids love looking through their books so much and DH likes them, too. And thats why Im doing this! I usually do most of my scrapbooking at home because I find it difficult to get many pages done when I go to scrap nights or have friends over here to scrap I like to talk too much. Shocking, I know! A fabulous scrap room is definitely on my wish list, but for now I am happy with the space I do have an office with a couple of antique dressers and my computer! I am so grateful for my husband who supports my habit, my kids who validate me and my SCS friends who completely inspire me. My pages are so much better since Ive met you all!

OK. So I am VERY new to the Scrapbooking challenges and I don't actually see the sketch... is there one or four? Does it have to fit with the theme challenge too? Sorry to be a nuisance?

Welcome Stacy!
We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties but the sketches will be up shortly. You can do one or more of the sketches or combine them for your own creation. It doesn't have to fit with the theme challenge but it can if you want. Does that make sense?
OK... here is mine, based on the first sketch. I do not know how to scan in and create a 12x12 so the picture is so distorted... anyways... I versamarked Summer Fun (retired) on the textured cardstock and the stickers are holograms that say things like "summer lovin'" "fun in the sun" and "lookin' good". I tore the PP like Mary's example and did faux stitching.
Here it is... my gallery
horray Mary, You're gallery is full of inspiration and the layouts chosen are wonderful. Love your work, energy and spirit. Congrats for being chosen Scrapin Diva.
Congrats, Mary!! Great pages for inspiration! All of your pages are gorgeous!!!
Tracy, I hate to sound like a whiner, but is there any way you could pretty please post the challenges with a bigger font? I'm nearsighted and having a really hard time reading the little font. I'm sorry if I'm being a pain in the booty. Thanks!

totally agree that the font is pretty small. Also Mary's write up is so tiny. But I was just thinking it's because of my "old" eyes.

PLEASE DO....Cause I have a surprise this week!!!!
TBA after I get the sketches squared away...oh and lunch for the little angels...;)
 I'm a little confused. Are other sketches going to be added for this week's challenge, or is the challenge complete? After reading the first challenge post, I interpreted it as there was some sort of problem uploading the other sketch, so for now they uploaded links to Mary's gallery and the sketches that Darcy made from Mary's 2 layouts. I've been waiting to update the master list file until after the other sketch gets uploaded? Not trying to be a pain, but wondering if I interpreted that correctly, or do I just need to update the master file list with what's there? ;) Please let me know so I can update if that's what I need to do. Thanks!!
So, as a 12 X 12 scraper, I choose either the Fun in the Sun or Oregon Vacation sketches....correct?
Also, I have to keep the themes.....Fun in the Sun or Vacation?
My first time trying the sketch challenges
Betty
You can choose any of the sketches. If they are for an 81/2x11 you can convert that to a 12x12. And you can scrap anything it doesn't have to be those themes unless you are doing the theme challenge, but the sketch challenge is for any pics any theme. Unless you want to combine the theme challenge with the sketch challenge!
have fun with it and make it yours!

I think she went a little smaller cause someone else complained on another thread about there being to many colors or something like that. However I have to agree the font is too small and my eyes are in good condition!;)

OK, PLEASE forgive me...BUT this font thing has me totally baffled...I am not quite "getting it"...Bear with me...I am a visual kind of gal...therefore, I am being visual with my examples... See the quote above? To me that font and the font I posted are relatively close in size...SO, please tell me what it is that you guys need to see as far as font size. PLEASE? I am confused and apparently not seeing what you are...
Let's solve this and focus on SCRAPBOOKING PLUEASSE!!!
If you post in a smaller font then I get the feeling that you can read a smaller font. Am I totally wrong in my thinking? HELP! I am seriously not trying to sound snarky or mean...I am just getting so many different views about fonts and then the fonts don't post the same size as they look when I am typing them up...EVERY WEEK someone seems to not be pleased. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle...again, just voicing my frustrations and feeling a bit like throwing my hands in the air and giving up. SO if you have any suggestions...PLEASE tell me...Honestly, I am tired of focusing on fonts...now this is me not meaning to be a pain...OK? I hope you gals can understand.
BTW, I too am nearsighted but I can read any font sizes that are posted...as I wear contacts and have glasses. I hope this doesn't sound ugly or mean but I am tired of focusing on FONTS! :

I got busy...and couldn't make it back to finish posting them...The scans would not come out correctly but now I finally have them...Sorry for the delay! I got busy with the kiddos.
umm it is after lunch and the chillins are gone! what is the surprise??? Or did I miss something?!?!?!!
Then I had something else to do...Just now getting back here today...and then I am gone again...SOrry for the wait...GOSH! (in my best Napoleon voice)
OK, all the SKETCHES are there...The font size is ARIAL SIZE #2...If that doesn't help PLEASE PM me with your suggestions...Let's try to focus on Scrapbooking and Scrampin...I will post a separate thread for suggestions (for your convenience) and preferences.
ALSO, compliments/comments will be welcome... In this thread I would like to focus on the challenge, the Scrappin Diva, questions about the challenge, etc. Thank You for your undertstanding. HUGS to ALL! WELCOME NEW SCRAMPERS! We appreciate your participation!
this post has used the same size font as I mentioned above

When I type in the box to reply, they all look the same, but posted in the thread, the one above is very, very tiny and difficult to read. The one below is somewhat larger and pretty easy to read. I'm not sure what the difference is in their names when they are created, but as they appear in the thread on my computer, there is a significant difference in readability. Thanks for trying to work on this. I truly do appreciate it lots!!

Edited to say: I went back to look at it again in the reply box. The fonts that are size 1 are the small, hard to read ones, the default size, or size 2 is easy. Thanks again!! Really, I do appreciate it a lot, and I hope I'm not being too much of a pain about this. Now...back to the focus on scrapping.
