TLC61 - Pencil Over
This week's technique is something called "Pencil Over". It was brought to my suggestion by Lisa (nmslmomto3), and I am so glad she did. This looks like a ton of fun!
Here's some inspiration, and then the directions:
from consuelo:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
from dbennett:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here's how to do it!
Stamp your image with white craft ink onto dark cardstock. Let dry completely, or use your heat gun to speed up the process. Then color in the image using colored pencils, including coloring on the white stamped lines.
So simple, and such a different look.
As always, if you have questions, please ask. If you have suggestions, please share!
When you upload, please put TLC61 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread.
If you need help uploading or posting a link to this thread, check out this link:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
Have fun!

Fun! Something new! I have only tried coloring with metallic pencils - not "regular" ones! Thanks for the challenge, Beth!

This sounds like fun. I need to make some cards and it's a cold, rainy day here in usually sunny Colorado. Thanks, Beth, for giving me something to do besides laundry.

This sounds great. I know pretty much how I want to do it. I will start on it as soon as I get back from taking the kids to school. Do you think the watercolor pencils will work if I don't get them wet? I don't know if I want to dig for the regular colored pencils.

Craft ink is pigment ink, so if your white pad is pigment (like colorbox), I would think that would work.

Jen, Beth's sample from Consuelo uses watercolor pencils.

I was actually home today and had time to play with this fun technique. I'm not sure that I am too crazy about the color combo, though. I'll have to try some more.
Thanks, Beth, for the challenge! Here is my link: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

TLC61 Pencil Over
Feathered Hope
My craft pad needed reinking - I must admit, I outlined some of this with white gel pen - off to do another "legit" one!
