IC20 - Room Divider (Inspiration Challenge)
Inspiration Challenge #20 (Don't forget to add IC20 to your keywords please!)
Today's inspiration comes from a room divider I found in the Smithsonian catalog (a mere $220 if you like).
Feel free to translate the inspiration item into a card, a scrapbook page, or another project. Be inspired by the colors, layout, theme, or anything else -- this is up to your own interpretation!
Here is my card. I was inspired by the ornate scrolls and the shape of the inner panels. I got a little funky with my card -- the burgandy is the base and the little flower stamped part opens up; 'twas fun anyway
OOOOOOOOh can't wait to try this..........but for now I must rest. LOL

Well if you don't want to pay for the original room divider I can sell you mine for a bargain price of a 39 cent stamp! So now you know I was inspired by the panels and the vases. And true to form ( my form ) I see faces in the scroll work at the top of Karen's sample. Don't send the paddy wagon for me ok, I didn't act upon that vision this week I just thought I would share it with you in my post this time, lol: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

LOL! Joni you're too funny. Where'd you get the urn stencil though?
I started this last night, but literally fell asleep at my stamping table. I combined this with LSC60 (no sentiment) - like that was hard - where would I put a sentiment?
Thanks for a fun challenge, Karen. This is my first time to play in this challenge. I struggled some but thought it was a great push out of my comfort zone.
Love this challenge Karen. I totally copied the panel design for mine just cuz I really liked it!! I have to agree with Joni--I saw a face at the top of that panel too (kinda looked like a gargoyle with a smile to me). I'm also combining with the LSC this week.

lol, I got the stencil from the LSS. I looked when I was there today to see if they still have it but they don't anymore. They had some new Hero Art stamps I just had to buy though.
I found a color combination that screams!! I knew I goofed with the first touch of Only Orange marker. But I thought I could rescue it. Not so sure CPR (Color Palette Reduction) was successful. It cerainly won't work for a sympathy card which is what I had in mind when I began, but I think it will do for a just because card, or you brighten my day type of thing. OMG that is too cute - I will have to remember that new definition!
Your card is lovely....I don't think the orange is too much at all - it gives the card a starting point from which you notice all the other touches/details. It will make a great thinking of you card.

wah, it still isn't approved...hopefully before the night is over. I'll check back in the morning (tis after 11pm here).
ETA, ok, the moderators must have been reading my mind (or, ya know, they are catching up with the day's postings) -- your card is now posted -- 2 min after I post....off to drool.
I got mine done, it started out to be a mini tall card and grew into the tall card. I really like the inpsiration photo Karen, you sure come up with some nice one.
Oh, several of you are making me think I need the linen background as well as canvas. Shame on you!!
Trust me Kathy, they are two totally different looks! Get em both!
Did you all notice the name I gave my card...Wall Divider...it's a room divider and it was late Saturday night. Everytime I get an email notification I laugh at myself!
I've been wanting to participate in this thread since they first put it on the home page and I finally did. Yay! I'm hoping to go back and do more.
Anyway, I loved the shape of each panel of the divider and I decided it SCREAMED for a tall skinny card. I bought Filigree just before they announced it's retirement and I thought it would work great as my scrolls.
This is my first Inspiration challenge, although I wanted to participate in the Rank Titles one, but at the time I was a Mad Swapper, and couldn't think of a darn thing!
I was inspired by the white on the flowers, and by the scrollwork, and a little bit by the colors. I combined this with the Ways to Use It and Limited Supply challenges:
Finally got mine finished. I too was inspired by the scroll work and white flowers on the panels. Tried to stay with the same color scheme but the stamp set dictated something else. I haven't had any ideas for this set (Flower Garden) so, Thank you, Karen for the inspiration!
