Question Can I use the new SU! Big Shot platform with Sizzlits & Embosslits?

I'm awaiting an order for a SU! Big Shot and got to thinking (usually not a good idea and usually something I should have thought of before making a decision :rolleyes. I inherited a small SideKick and lots of Sizzlits and Embosslits from a friend who had a mild stroke that has limited her fine motor skills some. I've searched high and low, but perhaps the answer is buried in the middle of all the available info. Most of the info I find is in regards to using the Sizzlits and Embosslits with the old multi-purpose platform opened to tab 1. Since that is not an option with the new SU! base plate, does anyone successfully still use Sizzlits and Embosslits with the new platform? Can I use them by just leaving off the thin die adapter? I'm hoping to find a way to not only use the inherited lot myself, but to maybe find a way for my friend to use her beloved materials without having to resort to an electric machine. She's better at maneuvering larger machines. I've never had a die cutting machine before and see lots of warnings about dos & don'ts. I'd hate to break something right off the bat once it arrives. Thanks for any assistance you experienced Big Shot users can give. It's greatly appreciated.

PS: I hope my signature quote does not apply in this case. ;)

I think you should be able to use the old multi-purpose platform in the new machine. Still use the tabs as you did before.

Yes, you can use the Sizzlits and Embosslits in a Big Shot with the newer style platform.

Thanks for the info. This will be my first Big Shot, so I don't have the old platform, but think I understand now that the adapter plate is a replacement for Tab 2. I'm sure it will all become clear when it gets here early this week, but was a question that was making my brain itch, so decided to get it out of my brain by asking those with experience. ;-) I'll get it all figured out before trying it with my friend. She will be ecstatic if she can operate it, as I will, too, that she doesn't have to stop creating. For now, she tells me what she wants, has me do the stamping that needs to be precise, but is able to stick on embellishments, etc. with glue dots or dimensionals. She still comes up with some great designs and has a long list of things she'd love to buy from the new SU! catalog.

What a wonderful friend you are, Squeezie! It warms my heart to think of you helping her continue her creativity even after her stroke.
