Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #463
Shipwreck on the River Pokie
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Ahhh...Spring is here finally. And that means lots of sunshiny days, balmy and sometimes wet weather, lovely evenings, and beautiful flowers everywhere. The townsfolk of Daffydilly take this time of yr very seriously as this is when their little town shines brightly. And not just from the sun either. No, this is when 42,000 daffodils on the shores of Lake OkiePokie will be in bloom and folks from all over come to see them. Why it has even been said that this mass of flowers can even be seen on satalite pictures of the area.
2: Folks come from all over and some of that shine is from the sun glinting off all the shiny and glossy surfaces of the fancy boats that cruise down the river Pokie and on into Lake OkiePokie to get a close up view of the flowers. And some of the shine likely comes from the sun glinting off the mirrored sunglasses of the not-so-famous people trying not to be recognized, but Shhhhh...don't tell anyone that you saw them here.
3: Then there are lots and lots an lots of folks who drive in and then walk along the walkways through the gardens to get a really close up look. (and to people watch too) These folks will be arriving soon and the townsfolk have hung out all the bright yellow welcome signs and cleaned up the paths and raked the beds. Oh, everything is looking really good for an excellent showing this yr.
4: Mrs. Daffodoodle has known of this spectacle for some time and has always intended to check it out but there has always been this show or that convention that she just HAD to go to and the timing has never been right until this yr. She actually is in the area and she has had her boats captain shine up the ship and is ready to sail down to see this beautiful exhibit. Wait a minute!......Ship?.....did she say ship? Honey, this is little ol' Lake OkiePokie not Lake Superior. You are going to end up a wreck for sure. The Pokie river isn't deep enough for that thing your bringin in. And you will surely block the way of all the other daffodil lovers.
5: RUTROH!! This could be a real problem. We need a smaller boat for sure. One that is small in size but grand in style to be acceptable for herself Mrs. Daffodoodle.
Challenge Translation:
Cheerful and bright, daffodils in sight. We need to deliver this cheer in a big way
