Tim Holtz is an amazing person in so many ways! I don't know if it's because he is a "he" in a primarily female community, or if it's because his style is so unique and inviting, or because of his charming nostalgic passions, or maybe it's simply his ingenious product design and product marketing skills? Well taken separately, or put them all together next to many more reasons, and I'm sure you can't prevent yourself from admiring his fame and accomplishments! As a CAS card designer, I tend to step a bit away from what he usually does with his inks and dyes. So, don't forget that you are not constrained to any particular style when you allow yourself to be inspired by his products and inks. Whatever he inspires in you, and whether you have, or don't have, his stamps, inks, or dies... or like, or don't like, his style.... please jump right in with this week's inspiration challenge and discover something fun that fits your own creative journey. No matter what style you prefer, I know you'll be deeply inspired by at least one of the many beautiful projects and images on the Tim Holtz Inspiration Pinterest Board(which has over 400 creative pins)! Enjoy!
Goals:
Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because it looks like an image on the board. Rather, take the real challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow again, and creating something brand new for the gallery!
Use the keyword: IC600 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words. Include your inspiration image in the description of your project being sure to only include links from our inspiration site authored by the Tim Holtz Inspiration Pinterest Board on Pinterest. I will normally pin at least 5 projects to my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Awards Board if you include a link to what inspired you.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many, or too little, images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorite designs! So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
What a fabulous Tim Holtz Gallery choice, Audrie!! I must play...I finally broke down and got all 12 of his amazing Distress Oxide inks...hmmm! Might take a couple of days, but I sure want to play soon.
How are you my friend? I think of you often. A big Hug...Nancy

Audrie, I cannot thank you enough for posting that video along with today's challenge. When I saw that the video was ten minutes long, I sighed and almost didn't hit play. Once the video started, I bawled my eyes out the entire time since his words touched me so.
Anyone reading this comment who has not watched the video in Audrie's post, PLEASE do!! If you have ever felt alone or imperfect or have doubts about your creativity, this video is for you!
I too am a CAS card maker but I can't "live" with out his distress inks, stains & markers. I definitely use his items for masculine cards and as an altered artist - well, no more need be said.
I can't do it! I have been trying to get something together for this challenge since 6 AM this morning --- It is noon - I quit. Some days it just doesn't come together. I will be back to see everyone's else creations though!

It worked! As soon as I announce to the whole world I can't do something, all of a sudden it will work. This works without fail! I used this one for my inspiration.

inspired by the Tim Holtz pinterest board- went with a bronze, black and green color scheme for my travel themed card- reverse cut pine boughs and some pine tree images for our trip from Washington State, a viola sticker for my DD, and some travel inspired elements- thirsty bottle cap, and black sentiment block. Here's There Yet?

I felt the same way when I watched it. It seemed to have such a great message for any of us.
Hugs,

I loved this challenge so much, I had to make another card, more masculine this time. Thank you so much for jump starting my creativity and sending me in a "new to me" direction.
Finally finished my Tim Holtz/Tracey Inspired Tag. I love the mixed media results. Thanks for hosting another awesome IC challenge Audrie and Tim's Inspiring Video. Hugs..
