Sharpie Coloring Secrets Videos - Great tips and techniques
This is a really good resource for people just getting into alcohol markers. Sharpies and Bics are an inexpensive way to try it out. There are also some interesting techniques for more experienced users.
Sharpie Coloring Secrets is from the Coloring Pages Bliss website. It covers basic alcohol marker techniques, shading through texture, colored pencil over markers and painting with alcohol markers.
You know me Bugga, I've got that same hodge-podge of markers! I've been able to expand my colors with the painting with alcohol markers technique. I have a couple of the brushes with the refillable barrel, filled them with rubbing alcohol. Love the results I get. I also liked the shading by stippling.
I can't wait to watch these videos. My "collection" of coloring tools is what I call Outcasts! I used to find bags of sharpies, Crayola's, lots of different types of colored pencils mixed together. I don't seem to find a lot anymore, probably because people aren't donating as much maybe because they're doing more coloring?
It's a lot of fun to try different ways of doing shading, highlighting, a lot of ways I had never thought of. Now I can try even more!!
Thanks for sharing the links to the videos. By myself, I'd never find everything that's available to us creative types but with the help of others, there is an endless stream of lessons to be learned.

Wow I thought I was the only one that had a pen collection. I have sort of settled on watercolor pens. Crayola or clean color but I do have spectrum Aqua and regular old pencils. I have Tombo, Bic and Sharpie with several other odds and ends.
I feel like such a fool for not knowing that my Sharpies were alcohol based markers like the expensive markers out there. Thank you so much Covington for the video! I watched the first 7 classes.
I just watched this series a couple of days ago and loved it! She also has a really good gel-pen series.

I want to add my thanks. This series has been really helpful for me!
You're most welcome! It's sure been a great resource for me. I ended up buying the Hammerhill paper she recommends. Big difference from the Michaels paper I was using. I can feel the difference as I blend.
