APRVSN17F ~ Saturday April, 1st-1:00 P.M. ~ Not Always Black and White! ~ annsforte3
Challenge Title: Not Always Black and White!!
Hostess: annsforte3 (Ann)
Keyword: APRVSN17F
Date: Saturday, April 1, 2017, 1:00 P.M. EST
Welcome to a magical April Fools Virtual Stamp Night!! I am very happy to be one of your hostess for this event!
One of my favorite movies is Pleasantville! Why you ask? I love seeing how the movie goes from black and white to beautiful living color as the characters in the movie obtain personal growth!
The change from a black and white image to color is truly magical!! The monochrome image changing to a colored image enhances ones view of the subject matter.
Ok, so now you are probably thinking you know what my challenge is all about! Yes, my challenge is to make a magic card!! There are a couple of ways to make this card.
One way is using the tutorial here at SCS or a simpler version of it by Unity Stamp. Either way, when that tab is pulled and you see your image turned to color, it is truly magical!

Many thanks to all of my fellow hostesses for their wonderful sample cards for my challenge!
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10 P. M. EST ON Sunday, April 9. 2. You have 1 hour to complete the challenge, unless otherwise noted.....you do not have to count prep time! 3. We have a special gallery for the April Fool's VSN. a) From the"Main Gallery" drop down list on the first page of the up loader, choose Events and Special Collections. b) From the Sub-gallery drop down list, choose Virtual Stamping and Scrapbooking Nights ~it's the last in the list. c) From the new sub-gallery drop down list choose April Fool's - it's the very top of the list. 4. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. 5. Please do not combine VSN challenges...but you may combine any other challenges with a VSN challenge!
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen. THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING ALONG!!!
1. Stamp your image on a base card stock. Line it up in the middle of the panel!
2. Stamp your acetate piece. For ease of lining up cut your acetate the same size as the base card stock where you stamped your image.
3. Place the acetate over the base card stock which has your image already stamped.
4. Match up the two pieces and stamp the same image onto the acetate.
5. Now, take another piece of cs and make a panel for over the acetate. See my purple sample. All I did was take the front panel and cut an oval into it - lining it up directly over the stamped acetate image.
6. Glue or tape the acetate stamped image to the back of your die cut panel. Color your image on your cs base.
7. Place double side tape around the edges only of the front/acetate panel. Line the images up so they match and tape the front panel down to the cs stamped base.
8. Make a sliding panel. This will be a tight fit. So play with it a bit cutting down the sides till it fits. Add a pull tab for convenience.
9. If you have a Misti or other device it will help you line up your images!
Thank you for a fabulous challenge. I thought it would be so difficult, and it turned out quite easy, especially with that simpler magic card tutorial. I guess they call these challenges for a reason, right? LOL
I really enjoyed making this sample for your challenge. Here is mine:
Boy! That was a challenge for me!!! I learned from my mistakes, so I'm looking forward to making more of these!! I don't know how to have 2 pictures in one gallery photo, so this one is with the slider pulled up.
Whew, this was not a one hour card for me. I'm going to call a whole lot of what I did prep time to sneak this in!!! Here's my card, Bunnies in Living Color.
Thanks for the challenge, Ann. I love how these cards turn out.
Subbing your thread for when my Mr Murphy allows me some me time so I can upload with Ms Sabrina ...love you for always enabling me and the VSN was a awesome delightful enablement!!! Learned many wonderful things...like how to be semi ready. Pray next time my journal will express it too then the mess it was this first round lol haha
Great excuse to give this a try. I used pop up foam tape on frame and I think it made the alignment look slightly off unless you hold the card just right. Oh well, this took me the full hour, but it was a nice challenge!
Mahalo much ms Ann this was so fun and educational. Loved the lesson and I'm sure it will inspire me to not fear stepping outside my comfort zom. Well with all your help and guidance I have been able to spread my wings...
