Hello Peeps! I am posting this Sunday night, but Spring finally arrives tomorrow, and with Spring comes Easter. So I thought we could have a Bunny Hop, and I giggle every time I think of a gallery full of bunnies. How old am I ... seriously - not too old for a Bunny gathering. So show me your bunnies, and I have some to share with you from the design team that I am sure you will enjoy.
1. There is no deadline to play along with the CAS challenges. 2. Take all the time you need to finish and upload your card. 3. Upload your card to your gallery and link it back to this tread so we all can see your project. 4. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, CAS421 when uploading your image, a copy/paste of the keyword is recommended to avoid typos. 5. Please feel free to combine the CAS challenges with any other of the challenges.
The challenges are to provide inspiration and to get us stamping, so have fun and follow your heART. We can't wait to see what you create.
And, the fave from last week is Jennifrann (Jennifer). CAS420 String Stamping Please grab this blinkie to share on your blog if you like.
You wont find them in the Bible, but many cherished Easter traditions have been around for centuries. The most prominent secular symbol of the Christian holiday, the Easter bunny reportedly was introduced to America by the German immigrants who brought over their stories of an egg-laying hare. Although the Bible makes no mention of a long-eared, short-tailed creature who delivers decorated eggs to well-behaved children on Easter Sunday; nevertheless, the Easter bunny has become a prominent symbol of Christianitys most important holiday. The exact origins of this mythical mammal are unclear, but rabbits, known to be prolific procreators, are an ancient symbol of fertility and new life. According to some sources, the Easter bunny first arrived in America in the 1700s with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania and transported their tradition of an egg-laying hare called Osterhase or Oschter Haws. Their children made nests in which this creature could lay its colored eggs. Eventually, the custom spread across the U.S. and the fabled rabbits Easter morning deliveries expanded to include chocolate and other types of candy and gifts, while decorated baskets replaced nests. Additionally, children often left out carrots for the bunny in case he got hungry from all his hopping. THE MORE YOU KNOW
Lovin' all the fun bunnies in the gallery, Kia - great choice for the first day of Spring!
And a big thank you for the history of the Easter Bunny in America; I found it fascinating that this has been around since the 1700's! I am going to ask my grandsons, whose grandparents are from Germany, if they know about Oschter Haws!

Love this challenge, thanks Kia! I used purples, reds, and pinks for my main colors, with cooler shades of cream and some greens for contrast. Here's my card Hoppy Easter

Good timing! I just got the new Bunny sentiment kit from Unity Stamp Company, so this gave me a good time to start playing. I included both, but really only one has enough open space to actually be CAS. Oh well...
