Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
So everyone knows that I have a geeky side, and usually my friends are ok with that! I enjoy building fun mobile apps and designing solutions for cloud productivity. Well, this week I wanted to see if the geeky stuff could inspire paper arts too! So I've chosen Dribbble as our inspiration site. Dribbble is a community of web designers, graphic designers, illustrators, icon artists, typographers, logo designers, and other creative types in the digital world who share small screenshots (shots) that show their work, process, and current projects. In a lot of ways, Dribbble resembles Splitcoaststampers.com, but in the digital world. I invite you to find inspiration for your paper arts and card designs this week from this unique community of technical designers! Enjoy this new perspective!
My CAS Card Challenge Goals:
Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from Dribbble.com, and I'm hoping to post at least 5 inspiration genius awards too!
Use the keyword: IC586 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
IC586 Gallery For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites below. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
Great site! I was inspired by the boats in the Denmark creation, and used a fussy cut sea creature, along with some boat and lighthouse dp, along with some dc scalloped circles, 2 mini metal brads, and pom pom style yarn. Here's Octopi

Fascinating site Audrie! Love the wonderful digital images. I work with techies that create these and that was great seeing so many all in one place. Thanks for the fun challenge today!
I am still recuperating from two surgeries, but wanted to tell everyone your cards are beautiful!! God Bless!

I enjoyed the Dribbbles site so much Audrie, but there was one graphic that just SCREAMED at me "I'm your inspiration!" It only took me 3 hours to execute a card I thought would do it justice . . . Here is my card:
Inspired by the wonderful colors and nature theme of the Nepal piece- I created a crazy quilt background, and added dc circles with my bee, beehive, and sentiment. Added a fussy cut flower, and used black and orange baker's twine as my embellishment. Here's Bee Yourself

What an AMAZING gallery today, every card made me want to run to my craft room and give it a go. Each of you have mastered the idea of "inspiring" others! Unfortunately, I can't sit too long due to a pinched nerve on my right leg, but I will get in there as soon as I can. Seriously, your cards today blew me away! Hugs, Audrie
Dribble was a great choice for this week's Inspiration Challenge! I was inspired by so many images but I finally narrowed my choice to Flowers. Here is my card.
