Mary said:"I just love the wonderful hot air balloon scene that Pat created. The colors were used perfectly. She made the card to send to a police officer wounded in the line of duty".

For this week's color challenge, I went with the reverse (the die cut foliage) from my prior tree card which was sponged with green ink to add some dimension to my tree foliage. Punched out some "bites" from the vertical sides of my card to mimic winter over blackberry leaves on my walk. Used some long strand yarn for my "moss" running at the top horizontal band of my card, intersecting the vertical double tie baker's twine. Finished with a pale aqua striped lower vertical border, and some hand drawn grasses and purple flowers. Here's Textured Tree

Had fun using my corrugated cardstock, adding a paper pieced and colored hydrangea flower, along with a prairie style dc scalloped heart for a bit of "pop". Added some mini dc hearts, a floral brad, and a colored digi sentiment. Here's Better Place

Combined this challenge with the Ways to Use It challenge of the week to use your favorite stamp. This was fun because I've never put her in purple/aqua colors before...makes me want to go buy some fun boots!
I enjoyed playing along this week, and love how the color combination turned out on my card - I did a watercolor wash. Thanks for the challenge! Here is my entry:Always Bee You
