A little late to the party, y'all... my sweetest apologies! I think you'll really enjoy today's offering even though it's a tad bit late. At least I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I'm always surprised by which ones make you excited and which ones fall flat. Your POSITIVE comments speak volumes. Without further ado... introducing...


the STAMP DOODLING technique


1. Stamp up one of your favorite images.2. Grab a fine tip marker.
3. DOODLE the stamped image! That's it!
NO DOODLING INSIDE THE IMAGE.

When I saw today's challenge I not only vehemently thought "NO" but "H-E-double hockey sticks NO!" . . . but you can't conquer a fear if you don't face it . . . so here is my attempt at doodling (see description for full story):

I kept my mitts off a complete coloring job and made a "smoke" dry embossed background for my friendly camping bear, Fred. I love campfire s'mores! Here's S'mores Anyone?

After some false starts with the doodling, I wandered a little afield from doodling with the actual stamped image and made a doodled background with white crayon for a watercolor resist. So I got to try two new (to me) techniques at the same time.

Not sure why I had such a hard time just doodling but I did! Obviously I need more practice... Also, the word "doodle" sounds sillier the more I type it....doodle doodle doodle...

Not one to let a word or concept defeat me, I decided to try one more . . .but this time I had a plan and that made it a little easier - the plan was if it turned out horrible I could just chuck it in the garbage and no one would ever know . . .lol . . . Here is my 2nd attempt:

This is my first SCS Challenge and I found it, well, challenging!

I'm a color-inside-the-lines sort of person so this was hard for me. I must have sat, pen in hand, poised over my image for at least 10 minutes before I could bring myself to start doodling! You might have thought I was contemplating a life-or-death decision!


Isn't that funny?! Oh, how free it feels to be such a rebel!!!


I doodled the border and the musical notes...not all that much but a great accomplishment for someone who NEVER colors outside the lines!
