It's Thursday, welcome to another Ways to Use It Challenge. Carla here and I'm looking for new stamps! Show me what you can do in WT618 Make Your Own Stamp. Oh, so many ways to be creative with all the techniques and materials available. You can be as simple or complex as you want, just be sure to have fun. If you're including words, remember to create it in reverse.
Here are some ideas and links to tutorials to get you started.
~ Carve a potato, like the first time you ever stamped
~ Carve a stamp from styrofoam, an eraser or linoleum Stamp Carving Basics Tutorial
~ Die cut fun foam Die Cut Stamps Tutorial
I'm excited to see your fun creations. Please include your stamp in your photo so we can see how you did it. When you upload your card to the gallery be sure to use WT618 as the keyword. If you come back and share a link to your card here, it makes it easy for people to find you.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY.
5. Come back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Here's a link to the WT618 Make a Stamp gallery. Take a look and leave some love
We've got carved and die cut stamps in our samples. Big thanks to Lisa, Sabrina and Toni for their creative cards.
This was great fun, Carla. The eraser one turned out to be easier than I thought, though I was hampered by only having a scalpel. I'd bought the erasers when Dina posted the stamp carving tutorial, so it was great to get the push to use them. WT618 Birthday Flowers
Then yesterday morning I read a suggestion of using cookie cutters on potatoes to create the shape, then you just cut away the waste. So I played again :-). WT608 Follow Your Heart (and Play)
And here's my potato stamp and cookie cutter: Thanks for such a fun challenge.
Carla you inspired me today!! I've been in a stamping slump but when I read your challenge I knew I wanted to do it. I've carved stamps before but it's been awhile. So today I got out my speedball linoleum cutter and went to work. I made the bird I'd been wanting to do. I forgot to include a picture of my stamp so I'll add it here also showing 2 previous ones I had done and used today.
Saved this striped gift card holder from the holidays- adding some dc teacups, with a green "shadow treatment"- and for this week's create your own stamp, a heart stamp fashioned from an eraser completed my card. Also worked for this week's color challenge of pinks and light green. Here's WT618 CC617 Tea-rrific card holder

Went with lightweight foam and used my leaf dies, along with my wood grain embossing folder for my stamped images. Added a pink dry embossed panel for my 2nd panel, all mounted on light green cardstock. Used a re-purposed sentiment and kept it uncluttered. Here's WT618 CC617 Leafy Note

Each challenge has its own unique number....for this stamp carving challenge this is the code you would put in the keyword spot when you load a card to the gallery. That way your card would appear in the WT618 gallery. WT stands for Ways to Use It....each week on Thursday there''s a new WT challenge posted. Hope that makes sense....;)
