Can you believe this is our 9th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2016 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2017! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2017! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2017 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc17jan"

In December, we had a "trial" for a new 2017 VSBN Format. The plan is to have 5 challenges posted the first Monday of Every month. You'll have the entire month to finish the challenge. These challenges will also align with our new Challenge Boards so you can see them posted in both.
(we will be updating the titles, just need some time to get this done)
We're hoping this plan provides consistency and gives us that "first of the month" fun to look forward to each month. If you'd like to be a VSBN Hostess for one of the month's, let me know and we'll get the schedule put together.
After December's VSBN "trial" let me know what you think :o I know it was a busy month so we'll try again with January ... if you missed it:
Call me crazy, but I am really going to try to do a LOAD (layout a day) for January! So that means 31 pages this month. Wish me luck. I will set my yearly goal at 100 and see how I do.

Fun Cheryl, I'd LOVE to be doing a LOAD for January but this month it isn't going to happen for me, too much travel. The closest Month I might get to do that is March ... so that's a maybe ;)
This month, I'm hoping for 8

Well, my kiddo is due on February 4 so this might be my last chance to scrap for a bit! I'm not going to set a specific goal for the month, just get done as much as I can before he arrives. My YTD for 2016 was 142.
Hi everyone! This past week has finally been a good week and I think I'm finally over being sick with pneumonia...it's been since before Halloween. Every time I thought I was better I would overdo it and relapse. So glad to get back into my craft room!!!!
My goal for 2017 is 120 pages ... 10 each month. So my goal for January is 10 pages!

Happy New Year all! I didn't do too well in 2016 when it came to doing scrap pages but I'm hoping for at least 52 this year. I'm going to try to do at least one per week to chronicle each month by week and I've actually got the first one started. I figure if I sit down each night or every other night and work on that week's page, I might just get some done this year!

Happy New Year Everybody... I have missed you ALL!
MY GOAL FOR 2017 is going to be 50... Not promising anything big this year. NOt sure about my new work schedule yet.
-----My YTD ended up only being 48 and I spent about $27.00 the whole year.----
MOst everyone knows, over the past few years, I have changed my opinion about making new year resolutions and how quickly they can become triggers for feelings of failure.
So going forward I would like to focus on a couple of things I have learned over this past year and share some positives:
--- joining the world of working mom's, I learned that it was a great avenue to share my charity events, but I also discovered how easy it is to get caught up in the working world and let the other important things in your life slip into second place.
--- I also learned that even as good as you are at time management, when you are not the only one in charge of your time you have no promise.
Positive Things:
*** We added another granddaughter (Wendy) in September
*** We will be adding another grand baby in May 2017
*** Our Pennies for Heaven Jar (Donated to Charity) ~ $13.77
*** Weight Lost over year ~ 16 pounds
*** We reached our temple goal
*** We crossed several fun things off our bucket list
*** Joined a bowling league .........lol!!!!!
And as part of my new year make-over I always start the year out with a new SMASH BOOK/ART JOURNAL/THOUGHT CATCHER. This year I am using the YM/YW theme scripture on the front. It is one of my favorites from my seminary days and it goes along with our topics of study this year.
So I'm lying here in my hotel room in San Diego having scrapbooking withdrawals. I miss my scraproom! And my cat. I am sure we will have fun today at Sea World but right now I have nothing to do so I really want to play with paper. . . :(
Happy Saturday ... from Dimondale, MI. I'm up here to watch my son's Gymnastics Team compete at their annual home competition. So different now he's the coach They started off great tonight though ....
I did bring some scrappin' supplies with me. My goal for 2017 is to scrap all of the pictures from the month before so by the end of 2017 (well, January 201 I would be done with 2017 ... just thought it might be fun for something different to try to stay current. That does mean however, that even though January is a very busy travel month, it's going to be a busy, busy scrap month because I have lots of fun photos from December! Yay
I finished my first 2 pages tonight, thanks to the January Scraplift Challenge (thank you Sharon!) I'll be back to post picts later ....
Scrap on!

A noble goal, Lela, and a smart way to break it down into manageable chunks! Best of luck to you. I'm still plowing through my LOAD, although I got a little behind when we were in San Diego since I didn't bring any scrap stuff. I haven't posted any of my completed layouts to this thread yet, so here goes with a bomb!
 Hi everyone, long time no see... I take that back, I have seen you you just have not seen me as I have not posted or commented in a year. I do check in on you from time to time and I do scrap. I did not make my goal last year, I fell about 20 pages short but I had a large goal so I am more than pleased.
I spent a lot of time with my mom during the year, then in August she had a sudden turn in her health and passed away 3 days later. All of the estate business has been taken care of between my sister and I, now we are left with the memories.
I would like to pop in from time to time and I had already set a goal of 200 for the year over at sb.com. I could keep that goal for here too if you will have me back. I also have a lift picked out from Sharon's challenge and making a kit to scrap at a crop I am going to this week end.
I will take a look at Cheryl's challenge for ideas for other layouts. I have only 3 feet of space at this crop so I have to be super organized. What I don't get done this week end I can work on the following week end as I signed up for a 3 day crop then too.
Oh, Sharon, you don't know how I have missed you and your inspiration! I am so sorry about your Mom. I know from experience how much that takes out of you dealing with sickness and death of your Mom. And we will grive for our Moms for the rest of our lives!
I am so tickled you are back and are working on a lift. Of course we will let you play anytime you want!
There is a lot that I forgot!!! It took me 10 minutes to hit enough buttons to figure out how to change my signature!!
I will make that correction with the key word!!! Thanks Sharon.
It is going to take me a bit to familiarize myself with all the "rules" again. I forgot to mention my goal for the month. I will go with 20 for January. I have two 3 day crops this month so hope to make good use of my time there.
Hey kids! Hope everyone is off to a scrappy start this year. I just uploaded three layouts in the gallery, but I actually finished the first two in December and just never got them uploaded. Hope to get to work on some more pages very soon
Completed a layout this morning. Now I'm trying to get some more scrapping done in the next two hours because my hubby and I are going out tonight for our 25th anniversary and I know I won't have time to do anything but homework once the kids get home!
Didn't get much scrapping done on Wednesday after I completed my last layout, but I managed to squeak out another one yesterday. Not quite keeping up with my LOAD, but it's motivating me to keep scrapping when I would usually run out of steam! Anyway, if anyone ever goes to Mesa Verde and needs inspiration for layouts, I'm providing it this month for sure. ;)
Hello all. I have been lurking in the background for a few months trying to figure out a relaunch back into scrapbooking. I was actively doing it for years and then fell behind when we moved and I left teaching to go back to school and be a nurse. Nursing school and fun do not coincide...at all. So several years have passed and I am getting my crafty life back and realizing how much I have missed that piece of myself. My boys are in college now and my husband re-did a place in the basement so I have a beautiful place to be creative. The boys call it "Mom's playground"! Ha!
I discovered this site a last year and have waded in making cards, but have decided its time to be lured from the shadows and embark again into scrapbooking. This site is a bit overwhelming at times and I have been trying to find a way to organize the different challenges. I often find that I come down to my playground to get started and get lost on the site and then...time's up! Ha!
So I am trying to compile a written list of different challenges I want to attempt to participate in. How do you all get things done and not just get lost in the galleries and forums? Any suggestions on how you guys keep this all straight would be very welcome! Do you upload scrapbook pages differently than cards? Is there a way to organize them separately within your own gallery? Is this even the right place to ask all these questions?
So with that being said... my goal for January is simply to begin!
Yes, just begin! Welcome out of the shadows , Amy!
Yes, you pretty much upload same as cards, except when choosing where, you choose Scrapbooking, then 12x12 if that is the size, or if it is digital, you choose that. I was putting mine in albums, but recently,I noticed that if you are doing it for one of our challenges, it is best not to upload to an album.
Oh, I should introduce myself. I am Sharon, and currently hostess for the Scraplift Challenge. That is a challenge you should consider. . If you don't do a VSBN or another challenge, you can at least put this Goal Challenge keyword in which is sbc17jan. When you upload. If you do a challenge, you put its keywords and this keyword in. Am I plain as mud? If you click on Scraplift Hostess in my signature line, it will link you to the Scraplift Challengs and in Jan. Challenge I have a link to the VSBN challenges. Have you looked at any of them? Welcome!!! We are glad you are here. Be sure and come back here and link us to your pages.
Hi Amy, so happy you will be joining us in our scrapbooking endeavors. I think for me, I come to this thread often as my starting place (Splitcoaststampers > Stamping Stuff > Splitcoast Challenges > Scrapbooking >) and click away from here.
Just don't feel overwhelmed, you do what makes you happy and productive in your "playground" - love that title.
I don't put my layouts in an album either, just select "scrapbooking, 12x12" since that is the size I mostly make.
Be sure to add "SBC17Jan" in the keyword - it changes each month, of course.
Each challenge has good and detailed instructions but here is always a good place to ask questions as need be.
Again, welcome!

A quick check in while I unwind from my crop so I can sleep when I head to bed, then get up and start all over again in the AM!!!! I have a couple of the challenges complete but will have to wait until the first of the week to take pictures then get them posted.
Thank you Cheryl and Sharon for hosting the challenges that gave me inspiration for my pages.
