Challenge Title: What's in your Cabinet?
Hostess: peeps321 (Polly)
Keyword: MIX205
Have you ever been making something and you're just not sure of what tool to use? You look around your stamping room for that certain something that will aid in your creative process. For today's challenge I want you to check your bathroom cabinet or linen closet....you're on the hunt for cotton balls! If you're like me you've had that background that turned out too dark or too boring. Today we're going to use a cotton ball as your tool to improve that. It will tone down that too bright, ugly background or add some texture to a plain one.
Challenge: Pour a bit of gesso or acrylic paint (or you could try reinker....experiment!) on a craft surface and then take a cotton ball or a bundle of 2 or 3 and dip it in the paint. Plop it on the craft sheet first to make sure you haven't gotten too much on your cotton balls...then gently dab it on your background. I did it randomly all over (I found it best not to rub or circle). For my backgrounds I didn't have as much luck with gesso but found that acrylic paint, especially some I had with a bit of shimmer turned out the best.
Remember to use at least
two or more different mediums on your project. See
this post for some ideas. Also make sure to put
MIX205 in the keyword section.
