It's Veterans Day (Armistice) today. The challenge is to include a poppy or some other nod to those who have/are serving their countries, and consider any inspiration from the details below.

Armistice observances began in 1919 in England to celebrate the signing of the Armistice signaling the end of WWI. It was signed on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Some countries call it Flagday or Remembrance day. At first, it was a 2 minute period of silence, the first minute for those who died during war, the second for those living left behind (families). In 1954 in the US, a full national holiday was declared and encompasses all who served, living or dead.

Love me my poppies, I'll look forward to this after work. Now we're hitting frosty temperatures overnight I think I'm done with stamping before work, too cold up in my attic.

I knew about the 11th hour of the 11th day, but the reason behind two minutes I never knew before - thanks for teaching me something new today.

I did make it up to my 50�F attic before work and got most of this done - now I can go and take a nap. Would love to use one of my poppy stamps for another card if I'm more awake later on!
