Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #432
Pirates, Parrots, and Pansies...Oh My
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Do you ever wish that you could walk into the pages of a good book and become a part of the story? What if there was a magic potion or spell that could make that very thing happen? What would you do to get your hands on it? What amount would you be willing to pay for something so wonderfully fun? Oh my, can you just imagine the fun we could have if we could walk around in Wonderland? or hitch a ride in the Batmobile? or twirl around at the top of a hill to music playing like in "Sounds of Music", or fly around the world like Peter Pan? Oh the possibilities are endless.
2: For little MaryKay, these dreams took on a really weird sort of reality after she fell asleep in the orchard one afternoon reading a book about pirates and sea treasure. Suddenly she woke to find herself in a forest that had a strange resemblance to the orchard but the trees were all old and twisted, and there was the strangest smell of vinegar in the air. And all around were sounds of birds that she didn't recognize and drum beats coming from somewhere up ahead. Or maybe over to the left, she really couldn't be certain. And then the loudest shrieking noises ever sounded in the trees above and nearly frightened little MaryKay right out of her penny loafers.
3: She started running forward where she thought the drums were coming from but she never seemed to find them, just more and more twisted gnarly trees and shrieking sounds from something in the trees that she could never quite see, and that weird smell. After what seemed like hours she found a small clearing and nearly collapsed with relief on the soft grass. Only to find herself suddenly surrounded by the strangest little one eyed big bellied pirates you ever could imagine.
4: She closed her eyes quickly and counted to 100, then slowly opened them to see if they were gone, but now there were about 100 of them and she closed her eyes so tight that she saw stars and kept them that way for the longest time ever. SHRRIEEEEEEEKK!!! Oh my Lord, said little MaryKay and jumped up and ran back towards where she thought she had started from and the ole tire swing. But the shrieking thing kept right behind her and she couldn't out run it. Finally out of breath, she fell down on the grass and decided to give herself up to whatever would be.
5: Pouncing on her, her little cousin Petey was laughing and wanting to know why she stopped. The impact of him jumping on her jolted her back to reality and she realized she must have been dreaming. But she decided then and there that no more pirate books for her. Oh no, better to read safe books about butterflies or flowers instead.
**Moral of the story** Don't fall asleep in the orchard after the summer sun has started fermenting the fallen fruit......MWAAAHAAAA!!!!**
