Smear, Smudge, & Shine! - Here we go!
Let's get a little less structured with this challenge. Using VersaMark or pigment inks, smear and/or smudge the ink on your card stock, or textured C/S (card stock), or printed paper. You can use the ink pad itself for the process, or use sponges, daubers, or even fingers to move the 'sticky' ink. Once the C/S is inked, heat emboss those areas! This can be your background layer or a panel, or even use this for die-cut shapes on your card or project. Enjoy!

Good morning, SCS!!
I'm so glad to spend some creative time with you here at our very first Falliday Fest!
I'll be popping in & out through the day ... so please check in to share your thoughts & a "Howdy" at the very least! Hope you'll enjoy the challenge & join in the fun!
this was fun! I smudged ink on my background, and paper pieced my caffeinated mice images- adding a dc square, circle, and flower with a bead. Used some turquoise grosgrain ribbon and coffee themed ribbon for my big embellishment. Here's FF16TexasGrammy Coffee Happy

Ha! That does look coppery in the pic ... but I know for a fact that it's brilliant, rich silver in person! That was such marvelous fun to have you & Misti stamping right across from me ... right here!! Still smiling ... so glad we got to share a few days of LOL's, stamping, and joy!
Thanks, Bev for a great challenge, I've never really done this technique before. I swiped my whole card front with Champagne Dazzle Versamark and embossed in clear and it is very shiny in real life but you can't see it in the photo.

I thought and I thought and I thought about this challenge all day. I thought "where'd I put those pigment inks?" and, "what am I gonna do, besides make a mess smearing and smudging?" and, finally, "which image to use?". And it sure was fun smearing and smudging! Bev, thanks for stretching those brain cells today!! Hope you like the final product:
Bev, is your challenge And officially a card drive? It not listed like card drive is. But, Because the way you talk card drive it confused me. So I wanted make sure your challenge is not card drive? am I right? thanks Linda

We encourage everyone to send as many of their Falliday challenge cards to the various card drives as possible ... whether the challenge "says" card drive or not. There are 4 choices in card drives this year. ;)
I'm planning to send some to each.
but need more clarification I will do my best... But, are your one 4 card drives? yes or no?

Linda ... I'm honestly not sure of your question.
You're welcome to play in all challenges.
You are not required to send your cards to any card drive, whether it's this challenge or any other challenge..
You are welcome to do so with all or any of the challenges. It's all your choice. ;)
Just browsed the Falliday Fest Gallery!
Y'all are making me need more stampy time right here, after looking at your inspiring creations! Way to go, SCS!

Awww ... I didn't intentionally push anyone into a stressy place. But .. I'm so glad you've decided you might even try this again. Love your results! I know just what you mean ... There's one thing I tried last week that will likely be the 'last' time I try it.
Bev, thanks for this great Challenge ! As i read your instructions i thought immediately of a golden shimmer background. I really did not want so much embossing but that came out:
Oohhh..this challenge is really challenging me! I am finally admitting defeat and asking for more details. Is the color achieved with colored embossing powder or colored ink? And, Bev, I am especially intrigued with the metallic look of your card. Would you mind sharing more details of how you obtained this awesome result? Thank you so much.
It's not visible on my card, but I did use my finger to smear some versamark on my poppies and then emboss with clear EP. Thank you for the fun challenge, Bev! Poppies
