Ok, I know you're wondering if I'll ever get home decor off my mind...but it's all good! I am hoping you'll love the quirky site I've picked this week which is packed with Wall Plates! The Wall Plates Online website is such fun! Who knew that people invested so much effort in covering light switches and electrical sockets (but they do!). So now that we see that there's wall plate art too, I might just try designing my own for my home! LOL Although I must admit that I didn't buy a single Wall Plate, I had loads of fun, and found lots of inspiration for my projects. I'm confident that you'll find something which "switches on" your creativity too!
Side Tip: Make sure to click/tap on your favorite wall plate until it fills the page (with picture and price details) before copying your hyperlink for your project description. Do NOT use the "Quick View" option because it will not give you the proper links.
Challenge Goals:* Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the site reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from the Wall Plates Online Website. Also, your card might also end up on my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board if it shows signs of especially deep inspiration! (smiles)
Use the keyword: IC546 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.*
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
Audrie- great inspiration site, thanks! I was inspired by the Asian Green Single Toggle Switchplate and went with an marsh bird themed card, adding some coloring to this cool image from my stamping buddies, along with a watercolor panel and a green vine panel. Got some texture from a burlap/brad combo. Here's Marsh Bird

Oh wow - who knew switch plates were such an art form - and SO may choices - I lived in Japan for 4 years so as soon as I saw the Asian red I knew it was the one to inspire me today! Thanks for a fun challenge. Geisha by bubblestx4 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Who knew? A site filled to the brim with outstanding wallplates. I'll never be able to look at another wallplate the same again. Wonderful site, Audrie. Thanks so much for today's inspirational challenge.

I could have used that webstore when I recently painted my bedroom. Fortunately, I found another webstore where I purchased some very pretty switchplate covers. Anyway, I'll keep this one in mind if I'm ever in the market for some more unique wall plates. Here's my card:
If you remember the web store where you got your plate(s), will you share with me? I am so intrigued by this art.
Hugs,
Audrie
