Challenge Title: Let the Backgrounds Talk
Hostess: Kia (kiagc)
Keyword: CAS374
Date: Week of April 25, 2016
Happy Monday everyone (or Sunday night)! I am happy to be back as hostess for this week's CAS challenge.
<o:p<o:pSo many styles are covered by CAS or Clean and Simple. I thought for this week we would have a look at the background for a CAS card. I know many think it means whitespace, but, in my humble opinion, and, this is only myopinion, it means lots of "open space". Of course, my opinion suits my challenge ... open space ... and for me, that leaves room for colour to burst on to the page. I love colour, it shows in my home decorating, my clothing etc. I hope you will join us today and make a card that celebrates the "Backgrounds."
Before I continue, an interesting fact about "crafting." As we move towards technology and outwardly experiences, even then science cannot deny the fact that happiness has to come from within, no gadget can give us what we can give ourselves, call it getting back to the basics. Similarly, it is scientifically proven that crafting has positive impacts on our mental and eventually our physical health. When we are creative, our brain releases a feel-good hormone, dopamine, it improves your mood and is a sure way of bringing you tranquility. The more you know.
1.There is no deadline to play along with the CAS challenges.
2. Take all the time you need to finish and upload your card.
3. Upload your card to your gallery and link back to this thread so we all can see your project.
4. Please remember to put in the correct keyword CAS374 when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
5. Please feel free to combine the CAS challenges with any other challenge.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your project is seen.
The challenges are to provide inspiration and to get us stamping, so have fun and follow your heART. We can't wait to see what you create!
What a great challenge, Kia. Thank you so much. I loved what you researched about creativity. I honestly think it makes perfect sense. we all need to read something like this. See you tomorrow.

I simply love this challenge and I totally agree with what you posted about the benefits of crafting. It is so therepeutic. I am certain about this fact: had I not found this universe I wouldn't be in the mood I am now. And I feel good, as the song says...Thank you Kia!!!
CAS374 was to make a colored background, I used blue and green chalk for mine.
TLC583 was to use an image made of pencils, since I cannot draw or shade, I used a digi and went over the shaded parts in pencil, and added some color.

Oh, my goodness! Thank you so much for choosing my Birthday Cat (which I now need to find where I put it so I can give it to hubs tomorrow) as favorite for last week! I was so busy checking out the challenge I wasn't paying attention. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness, this challenge had me scratching my head. I didn't really get what "let the background talk" meant, so I went with the idea of using color for the background rather than having lots of white space.
I decided to make another card for today's challenge, this time to satisfy my CAS sensibilities. The background is "talking", even if it isn't colored! Artistic license on my part...ha..
Here is my card for the, CAS374, Let The Background Talk, challenge. This was a fun easy card to make. Thanks for the fun challenge, and thanks for looking.
Here is another card for the, CAS374, challenge, Let The Background Talk. I made this one pretty fast, and late. I hope it's O.K. I had fun making this card. Thanks for the fun challenge, and thanks for looking.
Sometimes these challenges result in a gallery that I just can't stop looking through. I am blown away by this gallery. Wow, this community does backgrounds well and the diversity of the backgrounds--I just can't stand it. Thanks, Kia, for a fantastic challenge!
