IC532 - 100 Brilliant Color Combinations! {02-13-16)
Do you love to play with color? or Do you feel like you're using the same color palettes over and over again.....even feeling like you're in a "color rut"? Well for either of those reasons you're going to love this week's Inspiration Challenge! This is an old twist on the IC because we don't actually have a website this week, instead we have only 1 web PAGE! YEP! "I said only 1 web page". Before you run away feeling discouraged, the 1 page we have has 100 Brilliant Color Combinations! You don't even have to grab any hyperlinks this week (easy peasy for our tech-challenged artists out there)! You will only pick a numbered color palette on the page (1 through 100), and then create a project inspired by that color palette! In your description please remember to tell us what number palette you picked. Whoo hoooo! To make it even easier to play along....you don't have to use all 4 colors in the palette you choose, and please, feel free to take your inspiration from the photo next to the color palette instead! It's fun if you combine this with another color challenge on SCS....as long as the card didn't already exist. Comon' take the challenge with me, I'd love to see how it inspires you! It's fun!
Helpful Notes:
1. There are a LOT of pictures on that page, so give it at least 2 full minutes to load completely.
2. The numbers followed by the hash marks (#) are only used in web design...so you don't have to worry about those unless you want to create a digi-card!
Challenge Goals: Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because a color palette on the page reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your color palette selection. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many palettes to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
Wonderful artists I love all of your cards, but I pulled something in my back this morning so I will return later in the day to add comments to your cards...so sorry for being late on Saturday! Keep em coming though, AWESOME posts so far!
Audrie, this was an amazing selections of color combinations. My choice was #23. Here's my card.

Audrie- great idea! I just LOVE these color combos! I went with 13. Autumn in Vermont to enhance my bear card- which already had crimson and rust/brown as its central colors. Added some gold, and a scalloped washi tape border for my darker blue/ forest interpretation. I did some paper piecing with a dc heart for my bear, and added some scallops for fun. Put a rustic style button/twine/bow combo as this is a bear from the forest! Here's Autumn Love Bear- Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow everyone!
