Printer needed

Hi. I am desperate for a new printer. I have used Epson for the last 14 years and loved them. Great colors, essentially waterproof, and their printers have always worked well with heavier paper. Until now.....ugggg.....
I need a rear feed printer, that takes heavy paper.
I need it pretty quick, as my biz depends on it.
I figure you guys with scrapbooking and such would be the best people to ask. I did do a search, got to page 18 without much info found. S
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the HP laser printer that Jennifer Mcguire uses. Its like 75.00 if you do a search. It does only black but has a straight thru for cardstock that I love. I use it for digital stamps and foiling.

I have an old Canon Pixma (MP470) that has served me well for years. It prints just fine on most cardstock. It takes the (Walmart) Georgia-Pacific 110# cardstock with ease. Though sometimes the super thick (Michael's) Recollections 110# cardstock gets smudges from the paper rubbing against the carriage. (I have to say that I'm confused as to how both of these cardstocks can be rated as 110#)

My only complaint with my Canon Pixma is the cost of the ink cartridges. An SCS friend uses a refillable inkwell system. I'm trying to decide if I want to do the same or if I want to get a cheap laser printer instead since 99 percent of my printing is black text on white copy paper.

But if I'm going to upgrade to a laser printer, I'd like to get one that will handle the heavy Recollections 110# cardstock. Most of the comments I see are people complaining about how their machines don't take the heavy cardstock. Meanwhile, I'm in limbo, unsure of which direction I want to go.

I have been on the phone with Brother, Cannon and Konica Minolta. None of their lasers take heavy weight paper any longer.
I have an OLD Konica Magicolor. It works with heavy paper intermittently, which makes jobs very difficulty.

I'll look into a Cannon and see if any are front loaders any more. Things have changed so much in the last 2 years

I got an HP print/copy/scan at Walmart for about $40. Bought it because it has rear feed for heavier papers. So far, so good! Has color cartridges. I have not printed in color yet. I would search reviews on Amazon from 'verified purchasers.'

I bought an Epson Workforce 3640 this summer from Staples and have been very satisfied with it. It is color and does have a rear paper feed along with 2 paper trays. I don't know how heavy a paper you want to use but I have fed cardstock through the rear feed without any issues. Staples normally has their printers set up in store so you may want to take a piece of paper with you and see if they will confirm that it works.

Paula Anne, I have the Canon Pixma iP8720 large format printer and it takes heavy cardstock very well. I absolutely love, love, love this printer and it prints up to 13 x 19!
