Default Best tools for homemade Prima-style flowers?

Does anyone make homemade Prima-style flowers? Are there specific dies, or punches or papers that are good for these?

I love this simple tutorial using a SU punch:

I realize there are lots of different styles but I'm hoping to make something that's either like their tightly wound small-medium tea rose style like the tutorial, or fluttery or even floppy, rather than a typical flat 2-D die-cut paper flower.

Norma Lee has some beautiful tutorials for making flowers - you might check some of her posts for the dies and punches she uses:

This one in particular is really well presented:

I think that Heartfelt Creations makes the best flowers around. I follow their instructions and use their tools. Google them and look around their site. Emma Lou has made lots of videos to watch.

There's a rolled flowers tutorial in Resources: Rolled Flowers Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers
A friend taught me to use something like a pointed-nose pliers for the start of the rolling process; I found that a great help.

That looks like a great kit - do the tweezers close really tight?

Yes, Dina, they are great. And I love the fact that you have the embossing tool (with five different sizes), a piercing tool and craft knife all in one.

The best card stock I found for making flowers is Michael's Recollections brand 65# card stock. A few times a year they have it on sale for $2 for a pack of 50 sheets . I think it is normally $3.99 a pack.
